Re: [rosacea] If not Rosacea what else could that be?

Hi, SC.

I would get a second opinion, as I started exhibiting symptoms in my early
20's (around 22-23), and was misdiagnosed for years (about 5) until the
correct diagnosis of rosacea was made. This resulted in treatments that
exacerbated the symptoms rather than helping them. It would have saved me a
lot of grief if I had been diagnosed earlier.

Good luck.

Chantal

Hi group,

Im was wondering if there any other medical conditions
that can cause redness of the face (nose, cheeks)
except for Rosacea. My derm claims that it's
impossible that I have Rosacea since im too young (21
y/o) to have it, altho my cheeks and nose are almost
always pink/red and I flush/blush easily.

Could I be suffering from something else??

Regards,
SC.

I believe Dr. Nase stated that his rosacea symptoms started when he was in his early 20s, so I think your doctor is mistaken. Your symptoms definitely sound...

I think my rosacea started when I was 14, and it was diagnosed as acne. My derms at the time thought I had some unusual form of acne because of the location...
