I have been taking oracea (40mg.), a slow release form of doxy, for three and a
half years. I started taking it once a day but for the past year am down to 3
times a week. I am not having any problems with my skin so in my case the
antibiotic works long term. I am considering going off the oracea but haven't
built up the nerve to do so.

Hi-
I read a lot about doxy and antibiotic use for acne/rosacea, and it seems to
always say that the antibiotic stops working within a few months, and once you
stop taking it for good, the acne/rosacea comes back so much worse. Is this
true? Please share your experiences with me if you have been on doxy and
eventually went off. My derm would put me on a low dose 50mg/day dose so I don't
know if this would be less likely to happen. My skin isn't terrible, but it
could be better. However, I wouldn't want to make it worse by going on doxy.
Thanks. Kristina
