For guys out there, I believe that TTO might actually contribute to "man boobs".
No joke, I believe it was a study from early '08.

Hi Lisa,
In relation to what you just said about the body shop..... (if you are
interested)
I recently started using a couple of products from the body shop that contain
TTO in the hope of testing the demodex theory. I sent them an e-mail to ask
about the concentrations of TTO in their products. This was their response...
"Dear Matthew
Thank you for your email.
The Tea Tree Oil Foaming Face Wash contains around 1% tea tree oil and the
Mattifying Moisture Gel .5%, small quantities but is enough to benefit the
product and make it effective and safe to use.
The rest of the product range is similar, .5 to 1% out of 100%, the Tea Tree Oil
products contains the highest at around 15% tea tee oil.
Best wishes

When she said "The Tea Tree Oil Products contains the highest at around 15% tea
tree oil" she was referring to their product which just contains the diluted tea
tree oil.

Now according to the article that we were all looking at previously
http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2007/feb/18/medicineandhealth.health
They state that concentrations of Tea Tree Oil less than 1% are safe. I'm trying
to find some more information on that at the moment, and also trying to find out
if concentrations of TTO < 1% will actually kill demodex and their associated
bacteria.

Hi Jasper.
Oh, please don't go. I've just come back from holiday and thought wow
what a lively debate.
It's good to have opinions and that's what creates the debate. As long
as we are all polite and sensible about it. Well geeh why not? I'm
french and we (the french and my family included) have I beleive
nothing but debates. We might all in the end stick to our guns but
it's always a good thing to hear what others have to say.
I'm not sure about TTO being bad and I am not a user of this product
but I appreciate the knowledge you have given me in this particular
field. Even more so that the body shop who have strong ethics on
cosmetics seem to have a whole range using it... something to
definitely follow.
I think it's a shame that we should 'fight' over issues that are meant
to be helpful and with good intent and the fact that you apologised
for your tone of voice shows this.
Emails can a lot of times appear very abrupt and dry and do not always
truly carry the real intent of the writer.
So lets all please stick together to keep informing each other in as
friendly a manner as we can manage.
BTW Happy New Year to all my fellow rosaceans!
