Hello all:
I'm about a month long lurker, but first time poster. I'm so happy
to be here and so appreciative of everything Brady has done for
those of us with rosacea. I've had rosacea 20 years (diagnosed). I
recently discovered Z cream and the diet via another forum (demodex
solutions). I am 3 weeks into the Z cream routine and started the
diet 3 days agao. I have ZERO sugar (obvious or "sneaky") in my
kitchen now. The only carbs I have are allowed (cheese and exact
veggies discussed in Brady's book). Here's my problem: On day 3 of
the diet, I am SICK. Obviously, I'm coming off a predominantly carb
diet. I am very weak, shaking, have a never-ending massive headache,
am lethargic and cannot even sit up without feeling very ill. The
worst: I'm so dizzy that I sometimes bump into the walls when I
walk. My dilema: I'm self-employed and as a result, have no sick
time or vacation days due me. Not only can I not take 30 days off
to rid my body of carbs and get used to this new regimen, I can't
take 3 days off to do it. I know my health is more important than
work, but that doesn't change my obligations at the moment. HELP!
Although I am completely determined to get off carbs, would it be
possible to wean myself as opposed to quitting cold turkey as I have
attempted to do with results that leave me basically unable to
function? I'd rather add a few carbs and function than give up all
together. If that is possible, what amount and from what foods
should I add a few carbs with? Any suggestions on what time of day
to add them...or how to add them and what would be the least I can
add so that once I feel stable enough to function, I can begin to
lessen them again so I can get off completely. Truly, I want
off carbs, as I think they are not only a huge contributor to my
rosacea, but to other problems, including weight gain. I know if I
add carbs of any kind, I won't be on the diet, as stated in the
book. I want to do the 30 day diet as written by Brady, but I cannot
be this sick and meet my obligations to work and my family. I'm
wondering if adding more veggies would help in lieu of something
really bad like a little rice or bread or cereal.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch, Beth
