I really didnt believe that I had rosacea until about 6 months ago.
I've had problematic skin since moving to sub tropical Queensland from
a cooler climate 15 years ago and just thought it my body's way of
letting me know it was trying to cope.
Well I must say that I've changed my tune after some particularly bad
'outbreaks' (as I call them).
I've been madly reading the posts here and also doing copious amounts
of research to find the cause and of course here the answers were all
along!
History of sun-damaged skin? Check! The Australian lifestyle and of
course Queensland's is outdoors.
History of migraine? Check! This one had me baffled as I havent had
a migraine in years. After a few questions to my MD I found that a
medication that I'm on for my heart (Minax) also stops migrains.
Extreme blushing? Check! I get loads of comments about this all the
time.
And then of course there's the skin outbreaks. I have found it
extremely disheartening at times to wake up to yet another outbreak
and then have to make myself go out in public.... and I'm sure there
are many more people out there who get this worse than I!
Well Brady, I am pleased to say that changing the salt in my diet has
appeared to have solved most of the problems. Yes thats right! I
changed back to sea salt (something that I use to use all the time
years ago but changed for some unknown reason). HOORAY! some relief
at last!
Now I'm not saying that its totally solved the problem but has made it
so that I can feel much more comfortable stepping out into the public
without being senstive about how I look.
Keep up the great posts everyone! If something works for you, it may
also work for someone else.
