Re: [rosacea-diet-users-support-group] Temperature Changes

Hi Elena,

Yes, I used the Z cream morning and night. The night was the most important
"dose" but as my face was so bad, I used it in the morning and wore it all day,
too. I did suffer for the first couple of months with incredible dryness from it
but adding the good fats from the Diet, overall increased nutrition, and washing
with a cotton ball and water daily eventually eased some of the dryness. Now you
wouldn't know that my face had been so dry.

Uh, let's see. Sunscreen. Nope. I never used a sunscreen. <gasp!> I know, ain't
I the bad one! LOL :) I'm not a big advocate of sunscreen for the usual day to
day going in and out of stores or work. That's my preference. However, when I
was going to be outside for a number of hours at a time -- for example, I took a
class in which a good portion of it was held outside -- I did put on sunscreen.
The teacher brought some sunscreen in, and I used whatever she provided, don't
know what the brand was. My face did okay with it.

In your case of being outside on a school playground, I think you are wise to
use sunscreen. Maybe a hat, too -- go all out and be fashionable LOL :) =-- so
you don't have to suffer from any burning. As to what brand, I don't know what
to tell you. I'm sure others here make recommendations.

I'm guessing that you're using the Z cream, twice a day, morning and night. If
your school schedule will allow you to wash off the Z cream before you put the
sunscreen on, I would do that as first choice. That's the best way I know to
avoid any reaction. But granted, you may not have that luxury in time. If not,
then those days when you'll be on the playground -- Monday through Friday? --
perhaps only apply the Z cream at night. Maybe others here in the group who used
the Z cream only at night can tell you whether it still takes 4 months to treat
for the mites and all.

Dr. Linda Sy sells Zinco Cream which has sunscreen in it, in a tinted and
untinted version. I believe some group members used it as well as the Z cream.
You might ask the group. You can get samples of the Zinco cream to try. She
allows up to four samples of her products for $10 plus shipping. Two advantages
-- you don't have to lay out a lot of money for something you might have a
problem with, AND you get a nice size travel container :)

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Rachael

> HI Rachael, I will let you know if I decide the Chinese herb route. I agree
with with your husbands popsicle "therapy" LOL.........I also wanted to ask,
when you used the Z Cream you are one of a few who used it day and night, so I
was wondering did you use sunscreen over it if you knew you could not avoid the
sun? I will be on the school playground alot this year again and there is no
shade whatsoever so I just want to make sure there is nothing in sunscreen that
would react negatively with the Z Cream.
