Rosacea and Flushing   Message List

I have been a long time coming to try to clear up
the confusion of flushing and rosacea. More rosaceans
think flushing is rosacea and my polls have proven it
over a long time period. For instance, in this group a
poll question asks this one about flushing and rosacea,

"Do you think that flushing is rosacea?"

This unscientific poll results have had 28 rosaceans
at my rosaceans yahoo group responded and here is the
breakdown of the answers:

YES - 17 - 60.71%
NO - 7 - 25.00%
Don't know - 4 - 14.29%
Don't Care - 0

In my RDUSG yahoo group I get similar results:

YES - 7 - 58.33%
NO - 1 - 8.33%
Don't know - 4 - 33.33%
Don't care - 0

I am confident that a majority of rosaceans think
flushing is rosacea and they are absolutely wrong.
Flushing is not the definition of rosacea but is simply
a sign of rosacea. I have been saying this for years
yet the confusion still persists among rosaceans.

There is no doubt more to say about flushing and trigger factors and this post
is to clear
up the quandary on flushing. For instance, someone at r-s asked the question how
to
diagnose pre-rosacea and the answer involves flushing and can be a bit
confusing,
especially if one puts a lot of stock in flushing as the heart of rosacea. Just
remember that
flushing is only one of the signs of rosacea and is not the definition of
rosacea because
flushing is a sign of rosacea, just like pustules, burning pain, and tenderness.
Due to the
confusion that the majority of rosaceans have that flushing is rosacea,
discussing pre-
rosacea and other matters about rosacea can become even more confusing simply
because
of not understanding that flushing is a sign of rosacea.

I have now placed an editorial on my site explaining this but I think the
confusion will
persist since the majority of rosaceans think that flushing is rosacea when it
isn't.

Here is my editorial >

I keep trying to publish this fact. Here is another article I wrote on this
subject years ago:
