Matching grants, working with gift aid can make a big difference
(a worked example)Lets say a member of the public wishes to donate £500 to ROI
S/he is willing to gift aid that. The value of the gift is now worth £640
You apply to for a District designated fund (DDF) contribution, and we apply for a Avoidable Blindness Donor Advised Fund contribution. Both donate an equivalent amount i.e. £640, making £1,920 in total.
The sponsoring (hosting) Club / District, supported by us, applies for a TRF Matching grant. Qualifying TRF matching grants are paid on the basis of 50% of cash donated, other than through DDF. DDF contributions are matched funded at 100%. So the value of the original gift has grown from £500 to £3,840, a factor of 7.5
Not only has the cash value increased, the original donor has now donated 140 units with a retail value of £6,234.
A great ROI or return on investment
