Can the morning after pill cause RSI like symptoms?   Message List

5 days after taking the morning after pill (emergency contraception) I
began suffering from prickling heat and great discomfort on my right
wrist and forearm when using a mouse at work (my work is computer
intensive). When I switched usage to my left hand it started to
develop the same symptoms within half a day. My doctor is at a loss as
he says the symptoms are diffuse (i.e. not just flexors or extensors,
not just ulnar or radial), had an acute onset, are affecting both
arms, are subsequently affected by other things like opening doors,
shaking hands, in fact using my hands ar all, particularly when the
wrist bends. I have never had such symptoms before. I read on the
internet that birth control pills can cause inflamation of tendons,
leading to RIS type symptoms. The morning after pill gives you a dose
of progesterone that is 50 times greater than a normal birth control
pill. I am wondering whether I have had an adverse reaction to this
huge and unnatural dose of hormones. Has anyone experienced or read
anything that would back this theory up? Thanks.
