You ask what treatment I receieved from my brachial plexus injury
since it also helped my wrist pain
When I was severely disabled treament consisted of
1)low intensity laser therapy to promote tissue repair
2) othropedic manual physical therapy to restore range of motion
3) almost constant heat therapy to promote circulation
4) low dose injections of heparin to reduce inflamation (for me it
worked better than coristone and doesn't have the bad side effects of
coristone)
5) various home exercises as assigned by the pt
When I got somewhat better
1) Edgelow Neurovascular self treatment program (availible from
medical dynamics 1 800 945 0302, call Mr. Edgelow's office to find a
pt trained in this method 1-510-732-7881)
2) extensive biofeedback and feldenkrasis training to unlearn
unconscious habits that contributed to the rsi
3) various home exercises that I found on my own
4) A aquatic program designed by a former patient of Mr. Edgelow
I have a pretty long list I wrote from my rsi group describing all the
home treatment I tried and what was helpful about each book if that's
of interest.
Your milage may vary but I did get alot better with this approach (I
was pretty much a complete invalid and my doctor and pt though I might
not ever work again)
