RE: [repetitivestrain] Re: Massage therapy

Hi Jenny,

I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad, words are so empty, but I've lost my Dad also, so my heart understands your emptiness.

I am a massage therapist, and I had carpal tunnel syndrome.  It was because of my knowledge of muscles that I was able to heal it for myself, and why I can teach people how to self-treat the muscles that cause the pain.  Definitely continue getting massages, they are wonderful.  I've proven that muscles, and spasms within the muscle fibers, are what is causing carpal tunnel syndrome.  You can rid yourself of pain, keep at it.

If you want to see the muscles that cause the pain, look at the Anatomy Lesson Pages on www.aboutcts.com.  Then you will know where you need to massage.

Wishing you well,
     Julie

Massage helped me greatly.  I got acupuncture first and then the
massage, and both helped greatly.  I've also modified my workout
routine by lowering my reps and weights and going to twice a week
with weights.  I'm over 50 and postmenopausal, which unfortunately
does mean slower recovery time.  The stretching exercises I got from
the occupational therapist helped also.

I felt better after two weeks.

Carolyn
