Hi all,
I'm a new member to the group and wanted to invite anyone interested
to join a new group I'm trying to put together where members can
contribute, request or just collect keyboard shortcuts for any
program or task, all in one place. The list will be e-mailed
directly to members, either in digest or individual form, and would
include an indication of the program and operating system to which
each message relates. Anyone can contribute any keyboard shortcuts
he or she knows or has discovered and wishes to share with others.
The group will also be a place where keyboard shortcuts for
particular tasks can be requested. As we all know, a keyboard
shortcut method for performing a task is not always easy to find.
They are often not included in the help file's steps for performing a
task, which by default usually lists only the click method, and often
are not even found on the menu bar or the keyboard shortcuts page
itself. Sometimes there is also a much shorter way to perform a task
using only two keys on the keyboard, such as a control, something,
Alt something, or an F key, that isn't obvious by looking at the menu
bar indications or findable in the Help files.
If you think you might be interested at all in benefiting from or
contributing to such a group (especially since I haven't been able to
find another of it's kind, anywhere!) please take a moment to at
least check out the homepage for the group, by cutting and pasting
the link listed below, into your browser's address line. I hope some
of you will be kind & brave enough to join so that we can get this
group off the ground and start learning more ways to avoid the pain
of the mouse - until we have some members, no-one else is going to be
interested in joining or contributing either. I know we can't learn
much that way. Maybe if given half a chance, with this group, we can.
