Hello All,

I am brand new, and have a question. I have a close relative who is extremely
anxious about going to the dentist, and is experiencing some twinges in the gum
area. What do you recommend for dealing with both the physical and emotional
discomforts?

Many thanks,
Melissa

This is so interesting for me.
I also have a client with very similar patterns: constipation, alcohol abuse,
normal bowel movement followed by normal behaviour. Toxicity of the bowel
certainly seems to have a profound effect on our brain as well as on our
emotional and mental behaviour. I suspect, however, that it is rare that we
acknowledge this connection. I confess I am also guilty of turning to
foodstuffs which have a laxative effect, rather than using reflexology to help
my body perform.
So thanks for this message! I've just joined this forum.

Jennifer,
While you are working on your daughters feet you might use Lavender
essential oil from Young Living, I can't really recommend another company in the
US any way. Lavender is a very gentle essential oil and it has helped my son,
who also has ADHD.
Another thing that helped my son is recognizing when he was going 'out of
control' so to speak. My son always has an amazing amount of energy but there
were times when it was much worse than others kind as if he got to a point that
he couldn't stop contain himself. So I asked him about it, because it kind of
flooded into other peoples lives and overwhelmed most people. I asked if he had
noticed that happened and how he felt about it. I also told him what a wonderful
amount of energy he had and if he noticed that sometimes he got out of control.
He said that he did notice that. So I told him I wanted him to think about how
he felt just before he got to that point, and we started from there. I just
figured that he was going to have to deal with this all of his life and I wanted
him to learn to deal with it without taking a drug to suppress it, my own
personal feelings. After he became aware of that feeling I told him to take a
deep breath and get control of himself and step away for a little while
someplace quite if possible. I don't know if that works for everyone just
thought I would share, as one parent to another. Just hang in there that energy
is an amazing thing for her to have if she learns how to direct it.
We also use the Kangen water which has been very helpful, just a side note.

Lou,
Hello, I have been working on some people that have the same issues. In fact
when I lived in that area I really noticed a weakness as well. I am not certain
what causes the sensitivity that some have more than others but I do know what
helped the individual that I was working on. She was motivated to say she felt
like something had been turned on in her body that hadn't worked before our
session.
What I did was work up the spinal reflexes, using the vitaflex technique,
with the main essential oils used in a 'raindrop' session in addition to that I
used 'cinnamon' essential oil and 'Melissa' essential oil from YL. I used the
Vitaflex technique on all of her brain reflexes and actual from the base of the
toes all of the way to the tips. I just covered every single tiny section of
each toes thoroughly then I did the full raindrop technique on her back as well
both sides on the spine. She had remarkable results from one session and we will
be having another before long.
I am not certain if she has had greater resistance to the electromagnetic
fields since our session I will let you know when I work on her the next time
but she certain had a powerful recovery on some level.

Parvo in humans is known as Fifths disease, seen in children also known as
"slapped face" because of the flushed appearance of face.  Like the majority of
virus' it typically lasts 3 days.  It is usually deadly for canine victims with
diarrhea and vomiting the common symptoms, it is spreadable from one species to
the other.  It is interesting that they were told the virus attached to their
blood cells, been a nurse for over 30 years, this is a new one.  Work on areas
that include the lymphatic system to clear it.  contact me privately if you

I guess it depends on where you live in the world and also where in the USA you
live. In the USA each state has statutes that define complementary work in many
cases as in addition to, but the do not use in many states the terminology
medicine and/or treatment (treatment is often exclusive to the field of medicine
here). Alternative in many states is considered in place of traditional
medicine (doctors and so forth) and does not include bodywork at any time unless
you meet specific criteria. In Delaware a licensed massage therapist may work
by diagnosis on conditions with a referral from a physician which must be
written, faxed, or a phone call from the physician's office. They can also bill
insurance, but they cannot diagnose. Reflexology in many states is exempt from
massage law, but physicians tend to be protective of their arena so be careful
what you do. For me, I stick to stress relief and relaxation as my criteria
because the body does have this remarkable ability to take of itself when
homeostasis is reached. Just a thought. Dave

Donna, As with other disease processes, let your client's feet talk to you
"they won't lie". Find the areas that present with issues and treat them. If the
virus is causing other health issues then it will take longer to get the desired
result. When I am treating clients with diabetis I treat the organic system as
instructed by the feet. I get wonderful results. Ken (WA)

Ahmed, I will atempt to address the clarification that you seek. "Traditional"
medicine in general refers to  allopathic medicine which has been practiced in
the "western world" for a few hundred years.allopthic medicine atempts to cure
disease processes through the use of drugs. Not too many years ago ALL other
forms of healing work was concidered "Alternative" in the western world.
(alterative to allopathic care) in the past 40 odd years or so as the AMA and
and others have "determined" that certain alterative pactices such as
Chiropractic, Acupuncture, theraputic massage , and a few others may have
paliative value and are therefore could be concidered to be complimentary to
allopathic care. Most of us, alternative pacticioners, treat the person and not
the disease process. We use techniques that have been successfully in use for
thousands of years
to help our clients by helping the functions of the body to normalize
themselves. In a body that has normal function there is no place for disease.
Hope fully this helps.... Ken

One of my case studies has Epstein Barr along with a lung issue and a couple of

She is probably the most negative person I've ever met..

anxious about going to the dentist, and is experiencing some twinges in the gum
area. What do you recommend for dealing with both the physical and emotional
discomforts?

Many thanks,
Melissa

Your course looks interesting! Wish I could attend!
Do you have Orthopedic Reflexology charts available?

I agree with Ken, but you really must go from state to state in the USA to find
out how things are judged. My own definition of each is that alternative means
in place of allopathic and complementary means in addition to allopathic.
Depending on each state it is necessary to check what is listed in each law.
For example, in Delaware, Reflexology is lumped in with massage. Both are in
addition to, but massage can be used in a medical setting if you are a therapist
by referral from a physician or insurance, but reflexology is lumped under the
massage umbrella for criteria and does meet the therapist status here because
you need 500 hours and a Board recognized national test to become a therapist
which is at present the NCBTMB exam. Therefore, you can only work for
relaxation and stress release and homeostasis (body balance). Pain and stress
are symptoms, so one can work on a client for those. As we all know the real
healing comes from our immune system that works well in all situations when the
wires (nerves) are sending the proper messages to the brain. This means that
stress release, relaxation, and balance can help the body send messages to the
brain which in turn sends correction back to the unbalanced part of the body.
We are actually then allowing the body to what it is designed to do......balance
and correct. The body is doing the healing not us.

I have been reading various information about Reflexology online that has been
associating Reflexology with Massage Therapy. It seems that we may be loosing
ground as it relates to being able to practice our healing art professionally as
Reflexologist. This is an article that represents the future of Reflexology.

The word "El" in his speech (reflexes system) would be - "will receive".

I have 16 year old male who suffers from migraines so bad he has to be
hospitalized. The doctors believe it may be from a concussion to the brain stem
after having two concussions (unknown) playing football.
Does anyone have experience with these types of migraines? Can you share your
treatment plan?

Thanks!
Jane

Greetings,
Clove oil is great.  It's been used for years.
I worked on dental patients while they were in the chair getting work done.  it
was amazing!  Less medication to none was used and healing was faster.  The
patients loved it too.
But the best experience I've had was when I got to work on my own 11 year old
son.  He was having the metal removed in his mouth and didn't want needles in
his gums. So I worked on him for over an hour and he never flinched or cried.
Both the dentist and I were surprised.  And a child won't usually hide their
emotions!

Dear Melissa,
Of course, reflex the head and teeth reflexes. Also, try googling 'oil pulling'
- an ayurvedic practice
for dental hygiene. It is a simple and effective practice! I have been doing
this cocoanut oil and a drop of
oregano oil for about two months-my dental hygienest wanted to know what I have
been doing differently
since my gums looked so much healthier!

We need to become independant from massage therapy, because we do not do
massage.
Are you a certified reflexologist?

What is it about the bill that you find troubling? I've just read it, and
as I understand it, Washington now recognizes "Certified Reflexologist" as
a professional credential required to practice, in the same way that one
must receive a license to practice massage in that state. It does not
require Reflexologists to train in massage, specifying that Reflexologists
must not use "massage" or related terminology to describe their practice.
These seem to be positive gains to me. Have I misread the bill? I also took
from it that licensed massage practitioners are allowed to practice
reflexology with or without being certified in reflexology, which could be
problematic depending on the quality of reflexology training massage
schools in the state provide.

Yes, I am and have been in practice ten years. In Delaware, I am not allowed to
work by diagnosis just for balance and relaxation, but I am a certified
technician and if the body is realaxed the body does it's stuff and here that
statement works. Dave Patterson

Brenda, Every state has different requirements for Bodywork. Many states
exclude Reflexology from massage law, but not all states do that. Delaware does
not exclude but includes under massage and bodywork statutes and does not
exempt. Reflexology is under Bodywork and requires 500 hours to be a therapist,
plus a national test from the NCBTMB which is ludicrous, but it is fact. One
should always check the state they live in for Bodywork that is not true massage
e.g. Reflexology and Acupressure to be sure you are legal in that state. There
is no one National Certifying Organization that does it all by specific
disciplines. There was one person, Christine Issel, who got Reflexology exempt
in many states for many years. Be happy that your state is in the right spot.
