Hello! We have 2 applications for our scholarship fund. As we are
still in the process of collecting funds, I think this is a good
time to discuss how our committee may wish to dispense any
ultimately available monies.
My questions for the group include:
1. Timing of scholarship awards. I would anticipate perhaps
awarding whatever money might be in the funds at certain set periods
per year (perhaps, say, in June and December of each year??).
2. Amount of awards. Perhaps we should try to award a set amount,
then award that to as many families as possible. Maybe a $500 grant
per family is feasible? Would a higher amount be better? Would
this amount make a true difference for the families that need it?
3. Selection committee. If you still want to be on the
subcommittee that is helping to make selections, please let me
know. I will forward any received applications to the selection
committee members, and we plan a virtual meeting after we decide on
the above (the applications are forwarded to me after they are
received by Fact Family).
4. Continued fundraising. Anyone out there want to spearhead
future fundraising efforts? Unfortunately, I have limited personal
ability for fundraising efforts. Perhaps someone who is not going to
be on the selection committee could be the chief of this
subcommittee.
