Dear Friends of Natural Hygiene,

Tonight's Support Group topic is Flower

Three associations come to mind:

1. May is planting month for us to raise our organic crops and
decorative plants that will sprout up and produce flowers.

2. Symbolically, by being in tune with Nature in the outdoors,
our health will flower as we implement the natural laws that we
recognize.

3. We can consume edible flowers in our diets. (How many of you
thought of broccoli and cauliflower?)

In summary, Natural Hygiene teaches us to indulge our aesthetic
senses with flowers and appropriate surroundings in our life indoors
as well as our natural life outdoors, and in our internal environment
of our minds and spirits, to have a peaceful harmonious life.

One reference in the Toronto Natural Hygiene Library is by T.C. Fry.

T.C. Fry, was a man who thought for himself, often in opposition with
others with whom he was associated, and a popular writer and teacher
of Natural Hygiene (Life Science, as he called it), who became
involved in Natural Hygiene circa 1970, having been a businessman
living in New York City, operating a classical music record company
and selling recordings of music through the mail, and obviously
enjoying doing this, and had a good knowledge of such music.

Hence, due to his expansive thinking, in his first book, Program for
Dynamic Health –Introducing Natural Hygiene—the Proven Natural Health
System, pages 46 & 47, he writes in the chapter "An Elaboration upon
Eighteen Factors and Influences to Superb Health and Wellbeing" as
Point 18,

The human ability to appreciate beauty, art and goodness is not
unique but it is so highly developed as to place us far above the
most advanced animals. To achieve optimum health we should be
surrounded by the beauty in nature and in man's art. We should be in
association with those whose lives, personalities, attitudes and
deportment are pleasing to our social senses. Unaesthetic
surroundings, people of ugly disposition and a paucity of beauty
influences deeply and tends to likewise shape individuals.

The needs of life are this simple! Nothing is complicated about it.
It seems self-evident that these are the essential means for a happy
and healthy life. We can see that the science of health does not come
from the so-called scientific laboratories but, instead, it springs
from the laboratories of nature. Hygienists maintain that this
compromises the basic formula by which man lived in the lap of nature
while developing into the superb creature that he really is. Perhaps
we can pursue no wiser course than to cultivate optimally these
factors and influences in our pattern of living."

We will meet at Fresh by Juice for Life this month, because they are
easy to reach and open late for us. Directions are to go to 521 Bloor
St. West (east of Bathurst). They have healthy colourful, innovative
vegetarian selections. TVA members receive a discount.
