I haven't had a chance to dig into this yet, but I thought others here might
also find the topic of interest.

I the researcher who conducted the raw milk consumer
survey in April and May that you probably participated
in. I presented the results last month in Seattle,
where I was heckled by veterinarians, but heck,
I have presented papers to communists on the market
economy. Food safety people are no big deal. I wrote
about the heckling if you have missed it:

In my presentation I examined the consumer information
environment for raw milk and put a critical eye to both
regulator and advocate information quality. My own
slides have been put online by the Western Institute
for Food Safety and Security along with David Gumpert's
(the raw milk advocate who write The Complete Patient
blog) and those of the other presenters. I will be
submitting my results to a food safety journal for
publication.

In regards to consumer information, I wrote an article
for the Ethicurean: "Memo to raw milk advocates:
Improve information, or get sued," in response to
the presentation of food injury attorney Bill Marler,
who did suggest he might sue the WAPF on behalf of
his clients. (His slides are in the link above, as
well.) As you can imagine, the responses to the
article were pretty lively. Read the article here,
add a comment:

In the Ethicurean article I provide a little case study
of one narrow issue in raw milk safety: whether raw milk
kills pathogens.
There are stories on the Internet that California farmer
Mark McAfee inoculated his milk with pathogens and the
pathogens were killed off in less than 24 hours. It is
the stuff of urban legend. Urban legends can be true,
false, or somewhere in between. I took an interest in
this issue and have written a paper that I am selling
for a small fee. Read more about the paper here:
http://rawmilkwhitepapers.com/
You will note that the paper is a review of peer-reviewed
research on raw milk's pathogen-killing abilities. It
incorporates visual displays of the conclusions from the
studies, so that you can see the change in pathogens over
time in the milk.
Raw milk is a complex medium and that complexity is clear
in the paper. Pathogens respond differently under different
conditions.
I asked Mark McAfee to read an advance copy of the paper.
He also recognizes the complex nature of the literature.
He wrote:
"I have reviewed your white paper and found it to be
refreshingly well stated and accurate (according to my
experience). Thanks for putting the facts out there and
letting people decide for themselves." -- Mark McAfee
Check out the paper. Support raw milk information with
your purchase. (Someone has to fund it. I thought raw
milk consumers like you would be the best bet. We
consumers have the same interest in having accurate
and thorough information.)

On another topic, but since I know you like food,
I did a video commentary on the news of about ten days
ago that conventional produce has the same nutrient
content as organic. You may enjoy it:
