Vicki,
Thank you so much for the reply. I was worried but can relax now. My girl had
been milked on a milking machine too until I got her last year when she was in
milk. I didn't notice anything last year but this year I found that little
bugger and was scared it might be something serious.
I like to drink the goat milk raw and was concerned. Sure makes me feel better
knowing it's probably a milk cyst.

I also have one with a knot in each side. Milk is fine. The person I bought her
from said they come up but nothing to worry about. She calls it a milk cyst. I
have had this doe for nearly a year, she's a 2nd time freshener, eats well,
milks well, no problems. This doe was previously on a milking machine. I milk by
hand. Don't know if maybe the machine sometimes causes this. Just a speculation
nothing to prove that. Anyway my opinion is to not worry about it. Definitely
would not spend money on the vet.

Subject: [raw_goatmilk] Goat with small knot in udder
I'm fairly new to milking and I've got a goat that I'm milking. I have found a
small marble sized knot in her udder. Does anyone have any suggestions? Her milk
is fine. She had triplets back in March. I have sold two of the doelings but
still have a little buckling nursing and I'm milking once a day. It's not
getting any larger. I only discovered this a couple of days ago but it's
possible it could have been there a while. Any help would be appreciated. I
don't have the money to run to the vet and she seems fine.
