Hello everybody,
My name is Radu Vijdea, I'm from Cluj-Napoca, Romania and I represent a group of
young medical students who are interested in medical education and internet as
well. A year ago we've started a project of a medical web based, open source,
portal with medical links on the net, called MediClass. Our goal is to create
the greatest medical community on the net.
You can find a lot of good quality links in every medical field and they are
easy to browse by letter or using the search engine. Till now we've added more
then 1200 medical links, but we're still doing a hard work to find and subscribe
other links. You have the possibility to become an editor and subscribe the
sites that you have found on the internet, there's also the possibility to
propose/subscribe scientific articles that are the result of your research work,
there's also a forum to keep each other in contact and a news section, where you
can find the newest information from the medical field.
We would appreciate if you'll take a minute of your time and visit our site.
The address of our site is: www.mediclass.org
Please visit it and enjoy surfin', then let us know if you liked it. If you're
ready to set up for the challenge, remember, there's always an editor place for
you in our community.
Hope to hear from you soon!

Am curious if the demand for this field is as great in CA as it is
here in the US. I'm particularly curious how my degree and
certification here (US) would enhance (or not) my ability to live and
work in Canada. What is the Canadian version of ARRT?
Anyone have any info, or links to any info, on this subject?
Thanks,
Mike/FL
Hello, ive joined this group hopeing to find some information that I
have not been able to find elsewhere. My DR has givin me a
prescription for a MRI of the brain, an IAC and T and J contrast. Ive
found information regarding the MRI, but as for the other test he has
written on my prescription, I have no clue what they are and what
they can find/ rule out. I have been told that the contrast test
involves some type of dye, and if thats true of course im curious
why, and how do they get the dye to get into my brain. Im mentally
trying to prepare myself for these test, but it has been difficult to
do when I dont know exactly what they are. If anyone is able to pass
any information along to me I would much appreciate it! Thanks in
advance!!
I am a radiographer, with a specialty in mammography, so I am not particularly
familiar with the terms T and J, but I do know that contrasts are injected
through an I.V. line, generally in the arm. (I used to do CT scans) there is
never direct injection to the head. "IAC", from what I know, means "internal
auditory canal", the canal inside your ear on the other side of the eardrum. IAC
may be an abbreviation for a MRI term, though.
I wanted you to get a reply of some sort soon, as this is not a very active
list...I hope someone with more MRI experience helps you further.
Regards,
Judijo.

TMJ ( not T and J :) means temporal mandibular joint which is
basically the top of your jaw right below your temple. I'm betting
it just telling the MRI tech to focus on that area. Are you having
jaw troubles?
The dye used in MRI flows throughout your body. The dye doesn't go
strictly to your brain. The dye enters your vein through an
Intravenous line. The dye immediately goes to the heart where it is
pumped through your lungs, then back to the heart and then up to the
brain and the rest of the body. You should have nothing to worry
about, millions of people a year have MRI's, one of the best non
invasive modalities there is.
Take care and good luck

i have been looking for a web site or any info on ct certificates
in each state. what i am looking for is a print out on every state
that tells me what certificates i need to practice in that state. do
i need arrt, state certificate, veinapuncure, ect... hopefully
someone could help me out. thanks, ryan corbett
I don't know of any website. Connecticut requires a
ARRT license to get a state licence. A CT cert is not
required by the state .Most hospitals want people who
do have CT cert or eligible. Most offices don't care.

Either the ARRT or ASRT web site should have that information. I know I've
pulled it up before, but can't remember from where?! That's what happens when
you've been doing this business for 21 years!

Hello, my name is Amanda and I am enrolling in the Radiology
Technician course that the local hospital offers. I currently work in
healthcare, but I feel that this is a great field for me. I want to
find out more about the ability to find work, if the compensation is
appropriate for the work, and any other helpful tips for my interview
for admission. Thanks
Amanda,
right now as of today x-ray , ct techs, are at high demand. depending
on were you live there is good opportunity and pay.hospitals
are a great place to get started, but i personally think imaging centers are a
great work place. they are usually privately owned, and can
make their own schedules. hospitals are open 24 hrs. 7 days a week. imaging
centers can and usually are closed at night and weekends.
i will tell you that it seems hard to move to management without a degree in
hospitals. wish you the best.

*** The Fourth Verse ****
* Of The Star Spangled Banner *
Oh thus be it ever when all men shall stand
Between our loved homes and war's desolation
Blessed with beauty and peace may our heavenly lands
See the light up above and become more than nations
But if battle we must for the cause that is just
May we choose as standards those that all men can trust
Then the Star Spangled Banner in honor shall wave
Among the lands of the free and the home of the brave

Hello everyone, I'm starting school for my RT at a 2 year private
school degree program in Washington State this fall. I'm 24, and
have a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field. I would like to
become as marketable as possible, and learn as much as I can about
the direction the field is taking, and what is new and upcomming.
What's the best way to learn this type of information? Are there any
great magazines I can subscribe to?
Also..I'm interested in learning more about traveling programs. I
currently get the free publication, Healthcare Traveler, but I'm
looking for more information. Also, are there any international
travel companies? How difficult would it be to work overseas (either
temp or perm), either through a volunteer or paid program? What
about Canada?
Any feedback appreciated!
Songwolff
I am a RT who would like to learn MRI. I was considering ordering
the at-home study course MR CrossTrainer put out by Medical Imaging
Consultants. Can anyone tell me if this is a worthwhile course? I
am not presently working in a place where I can learn MRI but thought
this would be a good beginning. An help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

like to go to.
Thanks!!!
