This group's name is a take off on the old "Radio Free Europe". Just like RFE was a voice to counter censorship and suppression in Eastern Europe, the aim of this group is to do the same in Narcotics Anonymous. The main function of this group will be as an archive for material that presents an alternative to NAW$ communications and to expose the dark side of NAW$. NAW$ does some good but their primary purpose and NA's groups is not the same. They are a service board we have created but NAW$ is not NA!

Personally, I'm an addict who fought the good fight in the Baby Blue era. I've been recuperating from wounds sustained (LOL) but the fire burns again. I became involved in several NA discussion groups but I can see that ignorance, apathy and indifference abound. Most of these groups are so into a "NA pink cloud" that they refuse to acknowledge there are any problems and gang up on anyone who dares to bring this up and shake their illusions. As addicts we have all seen how the disease of addiction manifests itself in service at group, area and regional level. Yet why do we feel that our world service structure is immune from the disease? We have been bringing our disease to meetings with us since we got here and it's learned the language. Communications from NAW$ reflect that. Staff writers turn out all those communications and their job is to make it look good, professional. The communications you see here will be the voice of addicts, warts and all.

Anyone who has been coming to Narcotics Anonymous for awhile can see the death of our group conscience process, the trend towards exclusivity and the conversion of our groups into WSO storefront franchises. We will provide documentation, opinion, historical observations and whatever else will help open minded addicts see this. There is also literature that was written by addicts, for addicts in Radio Free NA 2.
