Dear folks,
Recently i am experiencing a quite interesting
phenomenon during the
practising of qigong meditation: every time i feel
that there is a
forming a watery kind of saliva in my mouth. Do you,
guys, know what
is this? My qigong instructor in Philadephia didn't
tell me about
this ocurrence.
I will appreciate your replies,
Daniel

Indeed, PALESTINE was, still and will always be the central issue
That is why criminal fascist Bush Jr and his Jewish Nazi masters are
trying to devastate Iraq, AGAIN, to
1) distract the world and divert attention from the endless massive
genocidal colonial crimes of Jews in Palestine
2) divert attention from the real and huge threat to world peace
posed by none other than both Larger Israel "aka United Jewishized
Snakes of America" and the Jewish expansionist colonial illegitimate
fortress in Palestine
3) give Jewish NAZIS led by the utterly thug and criminal Sharon a
free hand to steal more land and commit more ethnic cleansing and
genocide in exchange for keeping the "cowboy"-Hitler and shallow-
mineded fascsit Bush Jr in the Whore House
4) to colonize and loot the Arab and Muslim world through direct
colonization and military occupation by the animalistic new Judeo-
Churchian Crusaders.

Yeah, his name gets mentioned every once in a while on various Chinese
Metaphysics lists. He does seem pretty much "over the top" if his web site is
any indication........
I've been told that his Yijing stuff (at <A HREF="http://www.superiching.com">

"Front Page of Doom" with all the "you didn't listen to me, and now look what

Hello, i've been studying Chi maniplation (qigong) for about 4 years
now, and i've come to the conclusion that it will take several years
of cultivation inorder to use Psi abilities in a usefull way
(Telekinesis and teleportation for example).
Recently i've come across this site that says how you could live for
ever by using a pair of magnetic rings. Though i'm not certain that
one could live for ever, i think that it could surely extend one's
life :). Hopefully long enough to master psi abilities.

I don't suggest reading too much into the website (other than the

really odd ideas about the world's future. Take it with a grain of

Meditation mapped in monks
Scientists investigating the effect of the meditative state on Buddhist monk's
brains have found that portions of the organ previously active become quiet,
whilst pacified areas become stimulated.
Andrew Newberg, a radiologist at the University of Pennsylvania, US, told BBC
World Service's Discovery programme: "I think we are poised at a wonderful time
in our history to be able to explore religion and spirituality in a way which
was never thought possible."
Using a brain imaging technique, Newberg and his team studied a group of Tibetan
Buddhist monks as they meditated for approximately one hour.
When they reached a transcendental high, they were asked to pull a kite string
to their right, releasing an injection of a radioactive tracer. By injecting a
tiny amount of radioactive marker into the bloodstream of a deep meditator, the
scientists soon saw how the dye moved to active parts of the brain.
Sense of space
Later, once the subjects had finished meditating, the regions were imaged and
the meditation state compared with the normal waking state.
The scans provided remarkable clues about what goes on in the brain during
meditation.
"There was an increase in activity in the front part of the brain, the area that
is activated when anyone focuses attention on a particular task," Dr Newberg
explained.
In addition, a notable decrease in activity in the back part of the brain, or
parietal lobe, recognised as the area responsible for orientation, reinforced
the general suggestion that meditation leads to a lack of spatial awareness.
Dr Newberg explained: "During meditation, people have a loss of the sense of
self and frequently experience a sense of no space and time and that was exactly
what we saw."
Prayer power
The complex interaction between different areas of the brain also resembles the
pattern of activity that occurs during other so-called spiritual or mystical
experiences.
Dr Newberg's earlier studies have involved the brain activity of Franciscan nuns
during a type of prayer known as "centring".
As the prayer has a verbal element other parts of the brain are used but Dr
Newberg also found that they, "activated the attention area of the brain, and
diminished activity in the orientation area."
This is not the first time that scientists have investigated spirituality. In
1998, the healing benefits of prayer were alluded to when a group of scientists
in the US studied how patients with heart conditions experienced fewer
complications following periods of "intercessory prayer".
Inner world
And at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of
Science in Boston last month, scientists from Stanford University detailed their
research into the positive affects that hypnotherapy can have in helping people
cope with long-term illnesses.
Scientific study of both the physical world and the inner world of human
experiences are, according to Dr Newberg, equally beneficial.
"When someone has a mystical experience, they perceive that sense of reality to
be far greater and far clearer than our usual everyday sense of reality," he
said.
He added: "Since the sense of spiritual reality is more powerful and clear,
perhaps that sense of reality is more accurate than our scientific everyday
sense of reality."

Interesting. My other half's mom (now 82) went through hell about 5 years ago
with rapid deterioration of her spine from osteoporosis. Eventually she was
able to be stabilized with Fosamax, but in the mean time she had a couple of
painful attacks of kidney stones.

Osteoporosis, Qigong and Chinese Medicine
The osteoporosis (deterioration of bone tissue) is becoming a more and
more increasingly occuring disease, which leads to risk of fractures,
particularly of the hip, spine and wrist.
The Western medicine defines as one of the main causes of the disease
the abnormal metabolism: the inssuficient reserves of calcium in the
bones, fast lost of mineral and vitaminal content in the bone tissue
due to shortage of estrogen formation and other hormones in the body.
For prevention and treatment og ostetoporosis mainly are used methods
for regulation of the metabolism process and the hormonal balance, as
well as increase of the calcium and estrogen intake in the body.
The Chinese medicine examines two factors as main causes of
osteoporosis: deficinecy of energy (qi) in the kidneys and disharmony
between the functions of the spleen and stomach.
The energy deficiency in the kidneys is the most important precondition
for developing osteoporosis. It is manifested in such symptoms as an
overall weakness and fatigue, pains in the lower back, waist and knees;
easy bone fragility, dizziness, tinnitus, insomnia, frequent urination,
night sweating, dry mouth, sensitivity to cold, cold extremities, and
asthma.
According to the principles of Chinese medicine and qigong therapy, the
kidneys are in charge of the condition of body fluids, part of which
are used for the formation of bone marrow. The bone marrow nourishes
the bones and maintains them healthy and strong. That is why, in the
ancient medical treatises of China it is said that "the condition of
the kidneys defines the condition of the bones" and "the kidneys
stimulate the formation of bone marrow". If the vital energy and the
body fluids are insufficient, then the bone system would suffer as
well, and there will present conditions for developing osteoporosis and
fragile, soft bones with frequent fractures even in the lightest
traumas.
If the roots of a tree are strong, then the trunk and the branches
would be strong and unbreakable. The same happens within the human
body: the kidneys represent the roots that give power to the bone
system (the branches) and the whole body.
When the spleen and stomach functions are in disharmony, the body
cannot adequately derive nutrients from the intaken food, which by
itself leads to shortage of minerals, vitamins, enzymes, acids,
hormones, and other important components.
The cause of disbalance in the work of the digestive system are many,
but the most frequently seen are: qi and blood deficiency;
insufficiency of energy in the spleen due to improper eating;
overanxiety and stress; prolonged ilness; pathogenic Dampness and Heat
in the spleen; pathogenic Fire in the liver, which supresses the normal
work of the digestive system; accumulation of pathogenic Cold in the
stomach due to intake of cold food and drinks.
Prevention and Treatment
For prevention and treatment of osteoporosis are used foods and herbs
that have the action to tonify and warm the kidney qi, regulate the
functions of the spleen and stomach, restore the body fluids and
stimulate the formation of bone marrow. These are: soy and soy
products, green beans, chives, nettle, avocado, black ear mushrooms
(Jew's ear, also known as mu er) and tremella ("Silver ears", or yin
er), fragrant mushrooms (shiitake, or xiang gu), corn, yams (dioscorea,
or shan yao), carp, clams, cuttlefish, eel, cummin, trigonella,
rosemary, cinnamon, anise seed, clove, fennel, curcuma, grapefruit,
pomello, tangerines, plumes, jojoba (Chinese dates), grapes, cherry,
lotus root and seeds, chestnuts, walnuts, ginseng, royal jelly,
ganoderma (spiritual mushroom, or ling zhi), astragalus, Chinese
angelica dong kuai (dan gui), woldberries (lycium, or gou qi zi),
schizandra berries (wu wei zi), hip, drinaria (gu sui bu), etc.
From another point, in order to have healthy bone system, it is
necessary to use methods for increasing the pure energy in the body.
The energy (qi) is that which maintains all vital processes and
regulates the functions of the inner organs. Its deficiency in the body
weakens the immune system and leads to various disbalances,
disturbances in the work of the bodily organs and condition for disease
formation.
The thousand-year old experience of Chinese medicine proves that the
methods of the qigong science and practice for increasing the inner
energy through training of the quiet exercise (qigong meditation)
represent one of the most natural, certain and effective ways of
prevention and treatment of diseases.
There exist not a few examples with qigong practitioners who by
replenishing the vital energy, have got rid of different bone diseases,
including osteoporosis.
The increase of energy circulation within the body enhances trhe
quality of the inner organs and their activity, improves and
strengthens the bone marrow, straightens the position of bones and
joints, removes the pains and the pathogenic conditions. Day by day,
the qigong practitioners become more vital, more capable of working and
rejuvenated. The osteoporosis patients who use the method of qigong
increase in a natural way their kidney energy and regulate metabolism.
Gradually, the bone tissue is replenished and it becomes possible to
maintain healthy and powerful bone system.
The holistic approach for preserving health and treatment of
osteoporosis is based on active use both of inner methods for
self-regulation of the vital processes in organism and increase of more
pure energy (such as the training of qigong) and outer, complementary
methods, such as nutrition and fitotherapy, fitness, massage, and
others, along with the curative methods of Western medicine, with which
they can completely combine.

advise against using a metal stool. Anything to that?

Hi all,
In "Natural Qigong" (Wuwei Qigong), Wang Jianjun best describes the differences
of qigong postures:
"The quiet exercise can be done in standing, sitting or lying position. Each
posture has a definite meaning and goal, however, ultimately they all lead to
one and the same results as the postures are only a form, while the most
important is the content, the meaning of meditation.
The STANDING FORM accelerates the opening of the big heavenly orbit. Besides
that it is convenient for application in open air, outdoors, when the area is
not suitable for sitting. We stand up in normal straddling position, i. e. the
legs are straddled at the shoulders' level, the top of the shes point straint
ahead, and the knees are slightly bent. The body is upright and relaxed, the
head - straight or naturally slightly bent forward, the eyes are closed. The
hands are joined in front of the lower dantian.
THE SITTING FORM of the quiet exercise has several types:
1. "CROSS-SITTING POSTURE" on a pillow on the floor or the grass outside. This
posture is also called "san pan".
2. "HALF-LOTUS" posture, or "dan pan", in whic the foot of the one leg is put o
the thigh of the other leg.
3. "LOTUS" sitting form, or "shuang pan", in which the legs are also crossed,
however each foot is put on the thigh of the other leg.
The "half-lotus" and the "lotus" forms stimulate the faster opening of the
small heavenly orbit in the body. In the past, the qigong teachers have
demanded from their disciples to start the qigong practice namely with these
postures. For some people, however, in the beginning these two types of the
sitting form of meditation are not very comfortable as the practitioners have
tingling sensations in the legs and pains inthe waist area, due to stagnation in
some energy channels. In such cases, they can use the 'half-lotus" and "lotus"
postures in a later term, when their bodies become more flexible and the
corresponding channels are already opened. And until that time, they can
practice the quiet exercise in another, more convenient for them posture, for
example:
4. SITTING ON A CHAIR. We chose a medium sized chair or a stool, but not a soft
sofa, in which the body "sinks". We take up only half or one third of the seat,
in order to not lean. Although we do not feel it in the beginning, the energy
starts to flow inthe midline o fthe back from below upwards and if we lean on
the chair, we will create additional obstacles for its movement - not only
upwards, but also on a sloping plane of the back. Moreover, when leaning on the
back, the body's weight does not allocate equally and it is difficult to attain
balance necessary for the total relaxation of the body, bu not just parts of it.
If the stool is low-set, the legs can be crossed at the ankles, while sitting.
THE LYING FORM of meditation helps for the faster relaxation of the body and
mind. It is especially suitable for people, who because of health reasons,
temorarily are in bed or cannot sit for a long time. We lay on the back with
arms drooped on the both sides of the body with palms facing upwards or hands
joined in front of the lower dantian. Healthy people also can practice the
lying form of meditation.
In a lying state, however, it is easy to fall asleep, especially people who
work a lot and sleep insufficiently. For them, the sitting or the standing
postures are more suitable.
It is good to alternate the meditation postures with one another. In this
way, the body gets used to practicing the quiet exercise in all kinds of
circumstances."

I'm curious about sitting postures too, but from a different angle.
Even 35 years ago when I was a 105-pound high-school gymnast I couldn't
manage the lotus position simply because my legs were like tree trunks even
then; they were just too thick to fold up neatly.
I've never had "thunder thighs"; it's just that my legs have always been very
muscular. In fact, because I carry so much of my weight in my legs, my
physical center of gravity has always been somewhere around my hip joints
even though I'm very short-legged (I'm 5'5" but I take a 27 or 28" inseam; I
tell people that from my butt up I'm 5'11"!)......
To give you an idea of just how much muscle and power I've got in my legs, I
also ran track - *sprints*! - my freshman year in high school and did pretty
well, and used to get a kick out of amazing my friends who *far* outweighed
me by grabbing them around the hips and lifting them off the ground (if only
2 or 3 inches).
Almost no upper body strength though, no matter how many pushups and pullups
I tried to do, so that combined with my very low center of gravity made me a
whole lot better at track than gymnastics.........
Even back in high school I could barely manage a half-lotus; Now that I'm a
165-pound couch potato, even that's totally hopeless!
Any alternative suggestions?

Hello!
Dear colleagues at [qigong-science],
Can anybody of you explain about the different postures used in qigong

forms. But, which of them is the best and the most important in achieving fast
results in meditation?
Waiting for your replies and wishing you

Hello, all!
A clinical study on qigong use for cancer treatment was held few years ago at
Kuangan Men Hospital, Beijing.
127 patients were divided into 2 groups: qigong group and control group. All
participants in the study were in advanced stages of variours types of cancer.
Standard chemotherapy treatment was administered to both groups during the
clinical study. The qigong group practiced qigong meditation 2 hrs. per day in a
period of 3 months. The results are:
- Normalized Liver Function for the Qigong Group is 20.62%, while for the

Hi,
Under the state of relaxation or half-meditation, the energy field is
activated and it is possible that one starts to perform spontaneous
movements, which are known in China under the term 'spontaneous
qigong'. These movements are completely natural. For the awake
consciousness, these movements seem unconscious, however, for the
subconsciousness (which is activated during the state of relaxation
and meditation), they are normal and entirely purposive: they do
stimulate the cleansing and opening of the energy channels, they
assist in the process of restoration and improvement of the energy
and blood circulation in the body. D-r Wang Jianjun from China
explains that during this process, the brain does not control (or
almost does not control) the movements of the body, the willpower is
also passive, while the inner nature of man, which can very well
sense what is needed for health, feels itself released and
unrestricted by the commands of the brain, and thus it strives to
clean the all places in the body, which are in disbalance, where
there is a disease or conditions for the development of future
diseases.
In spontaneous qigong, the movements are quite different in each
individual, because the parts and the energy channels, which should
be cleansed are different for each person.
These movements may be slow, fast and even unusually fast-speeded.
They are characteristic and common only in the BEGINNING STAGE of the
person's transformation (you mentioned that your friend has started
to practice qigong recently) - the period of recovery of health.
After this they stop. Like their appearance, so their
discontinuation is completely natural.
Such movements appear almost in all people who have health
problems, no matter if:
1. the person himself practices meditation;
2. another person - healer - helps him with his energy, or:
3. the person relaxes under the accompaniment of music;
4. the person is under the state of collective relaxation or
collective meditation.

Later she spent years visiting and studying with high level Buddhist, Taoist and Tibet masters throughout the countryside of China. Hi all,
recently, a friend of mine have just started to practice qigong (since 3
months). During our summer vacation, while relaxing in the park,
he began to move his body, especially his hands, naturally, as if he is
doing qigong. Some of the moving forms really resemble qigong, and some
even look like taijichuan. Do you think that this could be named qigong?
Does anybody of you have such experience?
Looking for your replies,
Graciela
