I have recently written a book which is a translation of an important lecture given by Dr Pang Ming, founder of Zhineng Qigong. The feedback from the previews that I have received so far has been very good. I invite teachers of qigong and those who are interested in this alternative health modality to a free preview of the book prior to its official launch in May 2007 with the hope that they might like it and perhaps recommend it to colleagues and students. Otherwise, please treat it as a gift from a fellow student of energy healing science.

 Using Yishi
- Developing Human Potential through Qigong

A lecture by Dr Pang Ming
Translated by Samuel Lau

"Great book! Inspiring as well as enlightening. Once you start reading this book it is difficult to put it down. Each chapter takes the reader on an enlightening journey of self-discovery, explaining complex theoretical concepts with day-to-day examples that help the reader to understand the lesson being taught.
This is a must have book for anyone seriously seeking to understand the connections and interactions between the physical and meta-physical world. `Using Yishi - Developing Human Potential through Qigong', demonstrates the great depth of the practice of Qigong, which is very badly understood particularly in western countries, where Qigong is mostly seen as a form of physical exercise.
This book has many levels of depth to it and manages to teach its concepts to any level of understanding the student brings with them. People from any walk of life will find information they can directly apply to themselves and their lives.
I highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in learning about and understanding their own potential."
- Danny Siegenthaler, Dr of TCM, www.wildcrafted.com.au

"Being a new student, I'm at times overwhelmed and frustrated with the desire to learn as much as I can about the technical and subjective aspects of Zhineng Qigong.  In this regard, `Using Yishi' is just what the doctor (Dr. Ming Pang) ordered to help the new student correctly understand the nuance and philosophy of the techniques.  I'm sure in time, with further practice and study of this text, deeper layers of understanding will emerge.
So, with my intellect otherwise satisfied for the moment, practice is enhanced and that's `a good thing'.  Truly, the proof of the pudding is in the practice and `Using Yishi' is an excellent cookbook to assist the process. Thanks to Samuel and all!"
- Charlie Gerth, San Antonio, Texas, USA

"I must thank Samuel Lau for the massive task he undertook in translating Pang Laoshi's teachings. This work is a precious addition to the limited literature on the subject in the West and explains the very essence of Zhineng Qigong. `Using Yishi' reveals the reasons behind some of life's phenomena, explained in a simple and practical way. After reading it the sensation during practice has been amplified and now I am experiencing a more profound meaning to life.

I recommend this book especially to serious practitioners of Qigong and to all those who have made Qigong part of their life."

- Kenneth Agius, ZQ teacher, Malta."

"I found 'Using Yishi' to be awesome! I've been fortunate to train with a number of great Qigong people and found the approach to writing to be very refreshing. As a matter of fact, I could not put it down after getting started. The direct, easy to read manner in which it was written, is to be applauded. The focus on empowering the practitioner, training simplicity and the demystification of a topic (that often gets overcomplicated) makes this work a true classic."
