You might just want to vacuum instead of steam cleaning. I am not
certain (as Ann Martin did not specifically say)....but I think the idea
behind the "salt"....whether it is regular table salt or the boron salt
that the natural pest control companies use....I think the concept behind
that is that the salt "dehydrates" the flea and that is how they die.
If you steam clean....you are adding moisture back into your carpet...
and the fleas may return? Just a possibility. Ann Martin said that
all she did was vacuum afterwards. And, if you look at the directions
on the in home boron salts for flea control....they tell you to keep it
down on the carpet for a few days and then only to vacuum. I would
hate to see your fleas return after the steam cleaning? Just a
