Cat Donnelley ~ ~

Thank you ever so much for listening to my problems
and making naturapathic suggestions. There is a
naturapatic vet at a speciality clinic but they are
very expensive to go to. I am going to try some of
your suggestions with the aid of my vet.

As far as the seizures go, he was having years before
he went on prednoisone, only I did not realize what
they were. Recently they are gotten much worse and
that is why we ended up in emergency. Prior to that
none of the vets I visited with would be definate
about that but now are with his recent pronounced
symptoms.

I am wary of vitamins and detoxifications due to his
inflammatory bowel disease. I had give my fat cat
something for her teeth in her drinking water and it
made him very ill. So, I am in a quandry right now.
Had he been younger I would be very aggressive with
natural products for detoxification as such. However,
I will be purchasing chichen and fish to make for him
in lieu of canned cat food and have his dry food as a
back up.

Wow, I never know about Sci Diet as being so
problematic. What kind of mild dry food would you
suggest? Or maybe you did, and I will have to read
back through your email. I plan to save your email and
use it as a reference guide.

Oh, and thanks about the article about seizures. I
plan to print it out and talk to my vet about it.
Some people at work warned me about the phenobarbitol
but for now until I can come up with an alternative,
he is seizure free. He is a much calmer and happier
cat now too. There was a remarkable difference in him
after two weeks on phenobarbitol. I understand the
toll it will take on his kidneys and liver so I am
striving to find alternatives for it.

Thank you so much for all your help with this. I am
on my way to improving the quality for the remaining
days of my cat's life :)

Inez

Inez~ I figured that the seizures probably started before going on the Pred, but there are two reasons why I mentioned it. According to Pitcairn, even overuse...
