Samantha,
I sent your post to a friend of mine that has horses and works with a Vet.
Here is her response to your question, hope this helps.
Lori,,
I swear by a product called Vet-Lax, it is a natural fiber supplement, which is wonderful in the prevention of sand colic. I have to get mine through the vet., it is distributed by, Amsel, LTD. 15210 75th. St. Scottsdale, Arizona. 85260 1-800-637-2513.
It is given with feed twice a day for three weeks or as directed by their vet. Hope this is helpful. There are other products, on the market, much the same, but have seen the best results personally through our clinic with this. If they have any more questions, tell them I'll be glad to answer what I can on it, just pass on my email address...
Have a great day,,,

The remedy I have is ancient and I doubt it could be made up in the USA. Should anyone happen to know about this, could you please email me direct please. Many thanks, Sam
