Hi, my name is Stacy, and I have two boxers an almost 4 yo male (Rocky)and a 3
yo female (Madison). We live on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. My female is neutered
my male is not. My female is one of the healthiest dogs I've ever owned. My
male is not. I'm anxious to participate in this list, and learn all kinds of
good things from all you knowledgeable members. I have been feeding both of my
dogs BARF for the last 8 or so months. I'm convinced that has helped
tremendously. I am now in the process of weaning my male off of the prednisone
that he's been on to control allergies because I feel that if we are going to
try to boost his immune system holistally and nutritionally, then the Prednisone
is counterproductive. Anyway, my boy is exhibiting signs of Prednisone-induced
Cushings disease, which is another reason we are getting him off of it.

I guess I should start out with a legitimate question. We know he has lots of
allergies -- food, inhaled, environmental. One of my main concerns is how I can
control fleas and ticks holistically. I thought I read somewhere that two or
three drops of eucalyptus oil in a spray bottle with water, sprayed on just
before going outside is a good repellant. Any other suggestions?
