Hello,
My name is Michelle. I have a 2 year old Beagle (Becky) a 13 year
old a bull terrier (dude) and a 20Ib cat (Tommy).
My dogs (and cat) are like my kids. Some say I am a little obsessive
with them, but I don't care, I love it!!!
I joined this list because I like to hear stories from other people
and I would like to get some feed back on some issues myself.
First off, my bull terrier has arthritis and the vet has tried 3
different kinds so far. One is Rimadyle, two is ecogesic, and now he is
trying cosiquin. The first two didn't really do anything for him. The
Cosiquin they say takes about a month before you start to notice anything.
He has been on it now for about 2 weeks. Not really sure of any changes yet.
If this doesn't work then my vet says he is running out of options. I hope
that I can find something else to try. If anyone knows much about the
treatment of arthritis please let me know.
I also have another question if anyone could help. My Beagle has been
coughing lately. Not a lot ... like maybe 5 or 6 times each setting. Then
maybe she won't do it again until the next day. She is on heart worm
preventives and had her last heart worm check in January of this year. She
is very healthy and she doesn't seem sick at all.
Some people have told me allergies, but I don't know anything about
allergies in dogs. Others have told me that she could just have a tickle in
her throat. I don't know. I hate to take her to the vet when she seems to
be feeling great. Plus I am at the vet so much now they probably think I'm a
little obsessed with that too LOL I go out there for the arthritis pills on a
weekly basis and I also get the dog treats there.
Well, if anyone has some tips for the coughing (or if your dog has
done it) and on the arthritis I would love your feedback.
thanks
Michelle
