I would appreciate any suggestions on any of the ongoing cases we have right
now:
7 yr old deaf fe-sp cat who has chronic herpes (eyes) Current
treatment: 500 mg lysine SID; Gentocin eye drops BID and Idoxuridine 0.1%
solution QID. She eats only a lamb/barley diet. I would like to see her more
comfortable...anything else we could be doing for her?
Also have a 12 yr old fe-sp dog in renal and heart failure. Has recently had
a bout with vestibular disease---now seems better. Before that she was eating
fine (lots of allergies--so she ate Eukanuba FP) Now she is not eating
well---so basically am feeding her whatever it takes to get her to eat. Have
tried hamburger/rice and canned commerical foods. Strangely she seems to like
dog biscuits---usually can get her to eat them if she won't eat anything else!
Meds for her: Lasix, Uroeze, Thyroxine, Zantac, Enacard, Pred, Cosequin.
Don't have ml info here at computer--can get that if it is needed.
Also have a 14 yr old fe (sp?) cat who is in renal failure. 200 ml sub Q
fluids every other day (spiked with Potassium). Feeding canned CNM NF and Dry
WD---hard to get her to eat---very lethargic.
4 yr old M-N white boxer with pancreatitis--still in hospital---72 hrs on
IV--amylase still off the scale and lipase only slightly improved. He had not
had anything unusual to eat to trigger this episode (diet Nutro Max Natural
Choice Lamb/Rice---small pieces of cheese for treats very seldom---nothing
else) No usual symptoms of pancreatitis---only slower eating than usual---(I
thought he had a dental problem)
We also have a paraplegic dog---any suggestions to help her with bowel/bladder
control? She was shot in the back as she ran away from a guy, bullet
travelled up her spine leaving her paralyxed in her hindquarters. She gets
around really well (scoots) and we have gotten her a K9 Cart also. She
removes diapers as fast as we put them on her.
Biggest hurdle to her finding a home is her incontinence.
I looked through your site, but was not sure which of the products would work
best. Advice appreciated!
