I was under the impression that they couldn't get rabies until 4 mos.
I have two dogs now, a chow who gets rabies every three years die to
law and the fact that I think she could survive an encounter w/ a
rabid animal making the shot useful. However my Yorkie pup as far as
I'm concerned will never get a rabies shot. If he was bitten by a
rabid animal, and around here that usually means opossom, racoon, or
armadillo, I don't think he would survive the bite, making the rabies
a non-issue. A couple of his sisters from other litters have had
fatal reactions to the rabies vacc., so I'm gonna avoid it
completely. The World Health Organization website has some
interesting information about vaccinations in humans and animals, you
should check it out, sorry I don't know the link.
