Hi Malachi who is a year old now hasn't had his last series or rabies
that he should of gotten at 4 months.
I got him at 4 months and was suppose to get them for him which I
would of but he went through 3 surgies with in that first month of
getting him and some how the vets think he has his shots but he
hasn't to my knowledge unless they gave it to him and didn't charge
me or put it in his record which I find hard to believe they would
make that error.
So anyway he had what ever number of series they get before 4 months
but no last series or rabies.
He has skin allgery problems which I have been working hard to figure
out since we got him. We have made a lot of progress in this area by
changing to a raw diet and figuring out that he can't have beef,
chicken or any other meat that comes from an animal that has feathers
or a beak. He is eating goat, venison and rabbit right now.
I have worked on the supplements and all he gets and he is much
better but still having a few issues.
I am trying a new supplement right now so we will see.
I have been searching for a natural vet but can't find one close or
that is taking new patients. Looks like we might have to do a referal
if something doesn't turn up . But I am going to wait and see how he
does on this newest supplement.
I figure after Christmas is when I will do a consult if things aren't
looking better as they are much improved.
But anyway I got off subject here. What I want opinions on is what to
do about his shots.
He has immune issues I believe and I am not sure if I want to get him
any more shots. But we are going home in Dec and he is coming with us
as our guys always travel with us and I will need to get him at least
a rabies shot for the trip but I am not sure IF I want to get him the
series again or not as I was told that he should already have
immunity with the shot series he already got before 4 months.
Does anyone know anything about this.
I know I won't get him shots anymore often than every 3 years and
possibly not at all if I can get away with it.
But the rabies might be a different story.
Anyway just looking for opinions as I have heard not to vaccinate a
cat that has issues.
Thanks melissa
