Hello,
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for providing me all this great
information
to help my cat with her allergies & acne. I've been trying to soak in all
this info. I'm
also doing extra research on all the leads you've given me to determine what's
the
best thing to do since I can't find a holistic vet in my area (yet). Again,
thank you
from the bottom of my heart!
>>i have a greyhound with alot of food allergies and inhalent allergies, i keep
her
bathed atleast every 2 weeks, or even more if needed, use a oatmeal shampoo and
add some GOOD aloe vera to it massage it in, then rinse well with warm water,
take
about a 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar into a gal jug and fill with water, pour
that
over her, and rinse with water, the vinegar will bring her skins ph back down to
normal,,, id reccommend a raw diet!!! that is most important, it will take a
couple
weeks for her to start feeling better, as she will probley go through alittle
detox, get
the book "switching to raw" by susan k johnson.. id stay as far away from
vaccines, steroids and meds,,, do you have a holistic vet in your area? pam>>>
I know the oatmeal is to provide itch relief, aloe vera for skin healing, but
doesn't the
vinegar kill the bugs or whatever's on the skin? When I try to get the
blackheads off
her chin, the vinegar does a great job of loosening them off her skin. It must
sting
for her though cause whenever I use the vinegar, she wants to scratch the area
really
really bad! I had to do a water rinse to get the vinegar off. Anyways, I apply
this
oatmeal spray after the vinegar wash then I rub on the aloe vera. This is done
twice a
day. The chin acne looks so nasty.
Also, has anyone ever tried to get the pure aloe vera gel out of the plant? I
cut one
leaf and tried to get the gel out but this light yellow liquid came out near the
skin
area. Is this part of the aloe plant a no no? I heard different parts of the
plant has
different effects. Anyways, when I got it out, the yellow liquid was leaking
into the
pure inner clear gel part. I finally isolated just the pure inner gel but when
I try to apply it, the consistency is like snail slime; it just sat on top of
the fur so I
had to really rub it in. I mean really rub it in. Has anone has this
experience? Such a
shame to have the aloe plant but can't use it because of this.
If there is a holistic vet in my area, I would LOVE to meet him/her. I tried a
link that
does the holistic vet search but no such luck. I'm trying really hard to not
take her in
to see a conventional vet. If you happen to know of one in the Northern
California
Bay area please let me know.
