Hello Darleen and list members,
I should probably re-introduce myself to the group, it has been a
long time since I posted any messages.
I live in upstate NY and I have 3 canine companions. My best friends
include, Bongo-age 13 yrs (A seizure dog) he is a beagle/lab mix ,
Dusty-8 years he is a shephard/lab mix and now the newest member,
Roxy-1-1/2 year old female Australian Shepard cross.
Roxy is spayed and She appears to be healthy and problem free.
I have 2 concerns with Roxy:
1. She has some of the worse smelling urine, that I have ever been
exposed to.
2. She has been spotting periodically, almost mimicing a heat cycle.
Her Vet says that she is healthy, but if I would like him to he will
run some additional tests on her.
Her appetite and energy levels are good.
I have been feeding all three dogs innova dry food and I am
considering switching to flint river ranch.
1. Can you think oF any reason that she may have such strong urine?
2. Is this cause for concern?
3. Is it normal for a spayed female to have some sort of heat cycle?
4. Should I be giving her some special supplements.
Roxy is a special little dog she only weighs in at 25 lbs, she
adopted us when I was bringing donations to out local animal shelter.
This little dog made quite a fuss until she was sure that we took
notice of her, and we fell in love with her and brought her home a
few days later.
Any advice or suggestions that you could give would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Debbie
