Hi,
I'm new to this site and it is nice to know there is someplace to go
for help and advice.
I have a couple of questions and hope I can find some answers here.
I have a 16-yr-old Shih Tzu female named Coti. What a sweetie! Has
never had a health problem until this last year when she developed
bladder stones. Our vet does not want to do surgery due to her age
and has prescribed Methio-Form to balance her urine pH and Rimodyle
for discomfort. Both medications concern me, especially Rimodyle
which is very hard on her liver. Does anyone have any suggestions on
a more natural remedy?
In addition to Coti, I am blessed with a beautiful 3-yr-old Golden
Retriever female named Dylan. She has been diagnosed as a "neuro"
dog (equivalent of ADD in humans). I am her 3rd mommy. She has been
passed along because she is so very high-strung and difficult to
handle. Our vet has prescribed tranqs to "take the edge off."
Again, I am not comfortable in giving drugs for this type of problem,
although, she seems happier now that she is not bouncing off walls.
Has anyone heard of this? And If so, any suggestions?
I appreciate you input.
Nancy

Nancy, I am sorry it took me so long to get back to you! I've been so busy that I don't know if I am coming or going. It's great that Coti has been so healthy...

Thanks so much for you input. I will consult with the nutritional consultant on both Coti and Dylan. BTW, our vet has declared Coti imortal - she does act...
