Thank you. I will do that. I have been trying to feed the silly boy better dog
foods, such as Nutro and Drs. Foster and Smith food. But I do need to talk to
someone that knows more about this!

Sandy

Sandy,

I am sorry to hear about Laddie's weight problems. I can sure
commisserate
(my dogs aren't overweight, but I am)!

The problem with diet dog foods is that they are high in grains which
are
carbs, which are the very thing that causes weight gain (not fat and
not
protein)! Carbs also make you insanely hungry, and for dogs
especially, they are not
very nutritious, so they always act starved.

I would think about arranging a nutritional consultation with the staff
consultant via the PurelyPets.com website. She would be able to help
you construct
not only a good diet, but a good feeding schedule that will aid in
Laddie
losing the weight. And it doesn't involve starving the poor boy,
either. :)

Good luck!

Cat Donnelly
