My name is April. I am 24 years old. I was diagnosed with PTC in 2002, during
the final months of my senior year of high school. It started with headaches,
nausea, and then my vision started getting progressively worse. It took a few
weeks to get a definitive diagnosis. I had one spinal tap, and many visual field
tests. I was told that because my PTC had progressed so far, I would not regain
any of my vision. I believe in the power of prayer, and that is what my church
family did. I am not telling this to offend anyone, so if you do not want to
read any further don't feel obligated to. I know people with PTC can get better,
but what God did for me was a miracle! The doctors were telling me I would have
to have surgery, and even then I would still have significant visual impairment.
I am happy to report I never had to have surgery, my vision came back, and I
have not relapsed. It has been seven years, and I am thankful everyday that I am
still alive, and that God is still helping me!
