Re: [ptc] Fibromyalgia Question... ???

Hi Martha:
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in May 2008. I also was diagnosed with Pseudotumor Cerebri in October 2005, so I often doubt that I really have Fibromyalgia...I did not have all of these pains in the muscles and joints as well as head and neck tremors as well as balance problems until after a year of living with fluid on the brain...the Pseudotumor Cerebri...However, I am not a doctor.

Kaiser Permanente would not pay for Lyrica or some other medication that my doctor recommended. I am glad that they did not pay for Lyrica because I cannot gain weight, a real enemy of Pseudotumor Cerebri...Also, some people have supposedly committed suicide after taking Lyrica...I use to take Muscle Relaxers and Hydrocodone on the regular but I hate taking medicines that only mask or cover up symptoms.

Having said all of this, I am still in hopes of seeking help from a Holistic or Naturopathic Doctor...I am praying for you and hope that you will have success in getting the help that you need...Do you also suffer from insomnia? I do, but I am going to read my Bible up to an hour to try and get myself to sleep.

  Be encouraged Martha!

Love,
Freeda...I was born in Dallas and grew up in east Texas...I have been in Atlanta for 2 years.

Can I ask a question...  I am trying to find a doctor for my pain from "Fibromyalgia" .   What type of doctor would that be?   My Primary Care is of no help with my fibromyalgia pain.

THANKS,

Martha,  Dallas

I now know the real value of life...Before getting sick, I lived a life of dread, complaints and had a lack of gratitude... I am now more tender and appreciative to the small and simple things in life...Walking has new meaning...Nature all around me has new meaning...Family has new meaning...I pray that all is well with you. Take care .

I also have fibromyalgia but this takes the cake!!!! I was running home last month and got this really BAD headache. None like I ever felt before and literally tried 2 pull my hair off my scalp. My cousin called 911 and the squad came and rushed me to the hospital. They ran some test and rushed me into surgery. I really don't remember the first two weeks in there but I remember the last week and it was hell!!! But I am very thankfull to be here so this is a lesson to everyone!!! Don't take life like its not serious!!!!
