I am normally a quiet visitor but i am going into hospital on the 13th of February to have decompression surgery and as the day comes closer and closer i'm getting more scared! I was hoping to hear from any one who may offer any advice on any part of the whole thing be it tips on getting myself ready for the operation or just what pillow might be most comfortable! i'm not fussy, i guess i just wanna hear from anyone who's been down a similar road cause i'm scared out of my whits!
I have intracranial hypertension over 4 years,no shunts or anything just ongoing LP's but they've stoppped now since my arnold chiari became a problem!
Anyway, that's the jist of it!
thank you for taking the time to read this i know it can be hard on the eyes!

Hello MsDelite143:
I hope that all is well with you. I was diagnosed with PTC in 2005 but am almost certain that I had it long before that and did not know it until it reach its max. I have since continued to go in and out of remission too.
So far, I have learned the hard way, that keeping my weight under control actually does help control the problems with my eyesight and Optic Nerves being swollen. However, I am not able to work due to a number of problems with pain, lack of balance, muscle weakness and tremors...No doctor has been able to pinpoint this
problem. They say it is unrelated but I really have my doubts.
I have to exercise when possible and keep control of what I eat, especially sodium. I hope this was helpful.
Sincerely,
Freeda, Of Georgia
