Your infection isn't that rare. I had the same thing with my VP shunt
placement. Most horrible 3 months of my life. But congrats on getting
it. It will make ur life a lil easier.

had done in March and then unfortunately, I had to have it removed 4
weeks later and then replaced due to a staph infection. Just
remember that even though you're feeling so much better now after the
procedure, you did just undergo major surgery, and brain surgery at
that!! Take it one day at a time, and know that we're all here for
you during your recovery. (My infection was rare, I don't want you
to worry that you're going to have trouble after your surgery!!!).
Let me know if you have any questions, or if you just want to chat!

had the ICP monitoring done on Monday 7th, then that Thursday I had
the VP shunt installed. During the monitoring, my pressures stayed
continuous in the low 30 range and would spike into the 49 and 51
ranges. This was not a very fun procedure, as I could not move
around, I had to remain almost flat (with some expections) and the
best readings they would get and the only ones the dr would except
was when I was asleep. PAINFULL!!!! ! (OUCH)

has begun and is going wonderfully! ! I am back up to walking around
outside now and ready to get back to normal daily life. Headaches
have been very minimal (thankfully) !! I am very surprised. I am
praying for that full recovery with no set backs. I was very shocked
that the surgeon did not send me home with any antibiotics.

progression is made. I am taking every day slowly and having
wonderful care during my recovery.
