Hello:

I am the moderator of another support group for prostatitis which
is very active. I have looked at the archives for your group and the
questions are excellent, but there is not much information
exchange going on. I would like to have you all join my group.
Here's a link.

Best regards,

>Men who ate the most vegetables containing allium...

The author of this article must have misstated what was intended.
Allium is the genus of a group of plants - garlic, leeks, onions, etc.
I'm sure "allicin" was the intended ingredient being referenced. Be
that as it may, not all garlic is equal. Just as with water, some is
better than other, and in some cases it's alot better.

Peter Josling, a reknown British scientist and researcher who has
spent the last 15 years devoted to the study of garlic, has a 90
minute recorded telephone presentation that is available 24/7. It's
a very interesting and enlightening overview of the beneficial
natural antibiotic effects of garlic, and most particularly how his
new patented processing maintains 100% active allicin content in the
finished product. In this instance, the processed garlic is even more
potent than eating fresh cloves. Just one capsule of his new
product, Alli-C, gives the potency equivalent of 20-30 fresh cloves
of raw garlic - but without the odor. Garlic contains very powerful
natural antibiotic properties, even surpassing synthetic
antibiotics. Alli-C has only been available in the U.S. since
December of 2002. The recorded call is at 1-512-404-2362.

Spam? I'm looking for information about health, and I could care
less whether someone is selling something, giving it away, or
referring me to someone else. Information gives knowledge.
Knowledge gives the ability to make informed decisions. An informed
decision gives me an edge. So-called "spam" has given me many new
insights that I may have otherwise remained ignorant about in
maintaining my own health. "Spam", in an indirect manner, gave me
Prostate-Specialist. Prostate-Specialist gave me a healthier
prostate. Thank God for "spam".

I am writing on behalf of Global Pharmacal, Inc., a Bio-
Pharmaceutical company located at the Texas Research Park, in San
Antonio. I felt compelled to share with you the mission and
opportunity provided by Global Pharmacal. We are not a non-profit
organization, but please, don't let that stop you from helping us,
we need it. Please contact us and let us explain our unique
situation to you. It is so frustrating to know we have something
that can cure cancer, but do not have the funds to get it to market.

Global Pharmacal is working with a unique anticancer technology that
has a history of successfully curing hundreds of people with
different types of cancer without any visible side effects. The
primary mission of Global Pharmacal is to validate the facts and
develop drugs that will successfully combat the plague of our modern
day society – Cancer.

GPI must now break down the formula it has to find the active
ingredient(s) and identify the molecular structure for patent
protection. The formula has been successful in eliminating breast,
prostrate, brain and colon cancers. Most patients were cancer free
within 4 months of treatments. We are planning to diversify the
company's portfolio and develop agents against other diseases.
This diversification, upon funding, will insure success for the
business and broaden its scope in helping mankind.

Global Pharmacal is seeking partners that will participate in this
humanitarian endeavor as an owner by investing in the project or
will participate by purchasing stock and donating it to a non-profit
organization for a tax write off benefit. If you do not have the
means to invest, but know someone who does, we would appreciate you
putting us in contact with them. We would be willing to pay a
finders fee to anyone who puts us in contact with someone who would
invest in GPI. The Corporation was recently formed in Delaware and
is today providing a ground floor opportunity.

I beseech you to please take 15 minutes to review information on the
private company web site. These few moments could change the destiny
of people we will never know or possibly those directly connected to
us. You could be instrumental in laying the foundation on a cure for
cancer which is not only monumental, but phenomenal. People are
actually dying for medicines that truly work.

The web-site address is located at www.globalpharmacal.com. Once you
are at the site, you will need a user name and password, this is to
protect the sensitive data on the web site. This is given out only
to those who are serious about helping us. If you have a desire to
know more and have the means to help us, we would be honored to meet
with you and to have Dr. Alexander Weis personally cover this
project in its entirety. Please check his credentials on the web
site.

If you have any questions, would like too get a user name and

Hello everyone,

For what it's worth here's my story which began in the first week of December,
2002. I am 55 years old.

I was experiencing a nagging ache in the abdomen area. The pain increased over
about 5 days so I went to my M.D. She diagnosed prostatitis (I guess, she never
actually named it - called it a "prostate inflammation") and prescribed a series
of two antibiotics. I think the second was a "flush"?

What I was not prepared for was the pain. Is it common to experience sharp
testicular pain with the condition? The pain shifts up to the abdomen whenever I
eat something. How would prostatitis affect the intestines and the bowel?

I did get a blood, urine and PSA tests yesterday.

I've never been one to run to the doctor for an antibiotic treatment, so I am a
neophyte. Yesterday I stopped taking the "flush" pills in utter frustration
because the pain only increased during this treatment. Last night was probably
the worst night so far with intense testicular pain, but now (the following
morning) I actually feel a bit better.

Burning question: how long can I expect the pain and discomfort to last?

Thanks for your help in advance. Feel free to email me at greg@... if you
can offer information.

Hello,

This is my first post here...........so I am a newbie. I guess I am
not a newbie to BPH as I have had some symptons on and off for a few
years. About 6 months ago I had a little flare up and was put on 1 mg.
of Terasozin.

This fall I saw a new endrocrinologist for my diabetes as my former
endo retired. She saw in my history that I had had some episodes of
kidney stones.
It had been a few years since I had an IVP of the kidney performed so
she ordered one. No problems with stones, but it appeared the prostate
was pushing on the bladder, so she sent me to the urologist.

I saw him this week and just got the letter he sent to my Doctor and I
still have some questions. In the letter he states " There is a very
large impression on the base of the bladder from the prostate gland.
His prostate is benign feeling. We checked his PSA and it is normal at
.2."

He then further states "....the impression on the bladder floor is
likely due to the prostate."

He suggested a follow-up in one year and to keep taking the Terasozin.

1) Should I get a second opinion?? This Urologist and I have a history
and he has tended to "pooh pooh" me in the past. In 1996 I went to him
with severe pain and passing gravel and he thought it was nothing. He
finally at my insistence went in and did a bladder exam and the
"kidney stone" shot out at him and almost hit him. We live in a
somewhat remote area.........he is located 17 miles
away............the next nearest one is 60 miles away.

2) I know the .2 is a very low number.............but the words "very
large" and "is likely due" bother me a lot. Could it be something
other than the prostate???

3) What about the Saw Palmetto? Do most of you take it? Are some
brands more pure or a better strength? Some I notice have other
ingredients like pumpkin seed oil, zinc, or Lycopene What about these
ingredients??

4) I saw some of you mention Prostatonin....what about it??

Not really many symptons now and that is why he said to just wait.

What has been some of your experiences????

Don

Is a lower back ache generally associated with prostate cancer in its
very early stages. I banged my back up a few years ago, enough so that a
MRI showed a ruptured disk (L4). That same old feeling has been coming
back a little every once in a while. But now my urologist feels a little
something so I going in for biopsys next week. A year and a half ago, I
had a TURP so I'm hoping the 'little something' is just scar tissue.

Just came acoss this on a stock board and thought it was worth
passing along.

WASHINGTON, Nov 6 (Reuters) - Men who eat plenty of onions,
garlic and similar foods may irritate their romantic partners
but may cut their risk of prostate cancer in half, researchers
reported on Wednesday.
Men who ate the most vegetables containing allium -- the
pungent, sulfur-based compound blamed for the antisocial
effects of garlic and onions -- had a 50 percent lower risk of
having prostate cancer than those who ate the least, the study
found.
Ann Hsing of the National Cancer Institute and colleagues
interviewed 238 men with prostate cancer and 471 men without
prostate cancer about what they ate.
Men who ate more than a third of an ounce (10 grams) a day
of onions, garlic, chives or scallions were much less likely to
be in the cancer group, Hsing reported in Wednesday's issue of
the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.

I have suffered from cronic prostatitis in the past, the first few
infections were cleared up with antibiotics but over time the
antibiotics became ineffective(I even had antibiotics injected
dirrectly in the prostate), so I started taking Bee Pollen with good
results and over the past few years I had been mostly symptom free,
until 2 weeks ago and now I have a infection of the prostate
again. Please can anyone offer any help.Thank you.

Its been awhile since I've posted here. To refresh everyone's
memory, I elected to have robotic laproscopic surgery to remove my
prostate on January 3rd this year and have had 3 PSA tests since with
no detectable PSA and I remain 100% continent. But while I am very
thankful for that, I continue to remain impotent. I've tried
caverject which turned out to be very painful to me (one time I had
to go to the emergency room because I had a 4 hour erection which was
the most painful experience of my life). Muse didn't work and viagra
doesn't work. Eight months post surgery I am sure is too soon to be
concerned that my impotence will be permanent. I had the nerve
sparring proceedure but nothing seems to happening down there and I
am growing increasingly impatient. I recently have began using a
pump and have had some satisfaction with it but it is very high
maintenance and my erections are not sustained and not very firm so I
am somewhat disappointed with that.

My focus recently has been to consider an implant if things have not
improved significantly after 18 months. I am trying to gather some
comments from men who have chosen to receive a penile implant. I
would like to know a few things.

1. How long after surgery did you wait to get the implant?
2. Are you happy with your decision?
3. How long is the implant good for?
4. (On a very personal note)Does it feel natural when erect?

I would appreciate any feed back on this issue. Also I would
appreciate hearing from men who used viagra prior to surgery as my
doctor told me some men will not respond to viagra as well as they
did prior to prostate surgery. Please help me in this regard.
Thanks for listening, hope to hear from you soon.

Dennis

Was your radiolgy treatment successful? I started external beam
radiation with the BAT process yesterday. This will be 5 days a week
for 9 weeks.

Pacicare and the Veterans Administration gave me the choice of either
prostate surgery or prostate radiology.
I wish I had the choice of having a coctor inject me with a needle to
freeze my cancer. I have hear of men around here,Prescott,Az who have
had this prostate cancer freezing process.
I chose radiology over surgery. I finished my treatments last
December.
