During my diagnosis and treatment for Prostate Cancer, I recorded a
personal journal of my experiences, free for the downloading.
The journal is sometimes humorous, sometimes serious, but mostly
informative for those concerned with intimacy issues and the fear and
reality of sexual dysfunction and those interested in Watchful
Waiting. On-line prostate support groups and forums helped me
tremendously years ago. I hope this journal, in part, returns the
favor.

Pin Master,
Sorry to hear about your Dad, but having been through this situation over the
last couple of year I beleive that your Father should seek medical assistance
asap, has he possibley has full blown cancer att hat level. There are quite a
few treatment available for this insidous diesease. I under went surgey in Nov
2006, and fingures crossed the cancer has not reappeared. At your Dad's age his
PSA should not be any greater then 3.6 - 4 to be considered as normal. My
initial ready was 4.5 raising to 5.2 before the specilist conducted a biopsy
revealing that I indeed had cancer. But that said remember the choice is your
Father's as it would be yours if you were told that you possibly had cancer, it
your life only you can choose the path that you most take. Above all, while I am
sure you love and respect your Father, it is now that he needs your support not
an overbearing pressure to do something that he doe'nt want. Yes, I realise that
this is hard, as you
want only good health and healing for him, but just be there to support his
wishes.
If I can be of any help pls let me know.

Subject: [Prostate Health] PSA Tests and Results

Hi, I am a 25, and am looking for answers about the PSA test, and
its results. The situation is that my dad 62, has recently (with in
the last year) had a lot of these tests, and the results are coming
back ridiculously high. I have read that doctors have been usin 9
as a level where they diagnose prostate cancer, my dads has come
back at 97 each and every time (5 tests). He is currently refusing
treatment, further diagnostic tests and such, and it seems like he
is getting more and more easily tired.

Can anyone, preferably a doctor, explain what could be going on, or
am i just basically tryin to prepare myself for the inevitable?
Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

Lovecentria And The Art Of Lovemaking

Kamasutra: a book written well over a Millenia ago in India for male
citizens on how to please and how to be pleasured. As well as
acrobatic and sculptural positions, there includes advice for massage,
fellatio, cunnilingus, kissing, touching and penis/vaginal
compatibility. Many uneducated and uncultured people nowadays see it
only as the source to find "wild" positions for sex.

Every man needs a tip once in a while, especially when it comes to
things that are not that well-known. Take Kama Sutra for example.
Everybody heard the name, but to the average man Kama Sutra is just `a
name'. It has a raunchy connotation and a reputation for being some
sort of ancient porn mag, but the details elude pretty much anybody
who never had the time or the inclination to actually read the book.
Nevertheless, it's easier to pretend that one has the common vague
idea about what's in it than to really get hold of a copy and read it.

Lovecentria has taken the necessary steps to bringing the joys of
ancient erotic arts of the Orient into the lives of modern people
since we believe that it's better to be informed than to risk making a
fool of oneself. Lovecentria features an everyman's guide to both Kama
Sutra and Tantric sex, a no-nonsense approach to an issue that has the
common man repelled by the hints of mysticism and all that talk of
chakras, being one with the universe or dancing naked around certain
trees. Kama Sutra is a far simpler affair and one that can be learnt
quickly.

We have a hefty database of instructional videos, articles and ebooks
that can teach anybody what the ancient people of India meant when
they spoke about Kama (love) and what they were doing in bed that has
made this book so famous through the ages. The Treatise on Love, which
is the correct translation of Kama Sutra, is a comprehensive book on
how to get to know women, how to woo them and, finally, how to perform
in bed in order to please both yourself and the lady in question. All
you need to know about Kama Sutra is a couple of clicks away on the
Lovecentria website.

The best reason to learn about the Kama Sutra is to perfect your
style. Every man wants to amaze women with his skills and techniques
and this is where this ancient book can make a huge difference in your
love life. New positions, new attitudes and new ways of courting women
can be at your fingertips in a short while. With more information
comes more confidence and before you know it a new man will emerge
from within you, a man who knows what to say and what to do to succeed
every time. I think every man would like that.

Tantric Sex

Tantric sex is another great way of blowing the minds (not literally)
of women; especially those who don't think much of you at the start.
Women always melt before passion and tenderness and Tantric sex is all
about increasing the feeling instead of just pushing harder or faster.
It's about learning to open your heart a bit and experience a
fantastic sense of unity with your lover. And that's exactly what's
going to make her beg for more every time because good Tantric sex and
a thorough knowledge of Kama Sutra are remarkably scarce in men.

Interested in experimenting with Kama Sutra and tantric sex?
Lovecentria has all the content and advice that you need. Articles,
videos and instructional eBooks are all available.

Smoking, Drinking And Sex

Many men suffer from bedroom performance_related issues. Recent
studies have put the number of men suffering from erectile dysfunction
at 40 percent, but it is thought that the true figure should be higher
because many men choose not to acknowledge the truth. The most common
causes for erectile dysfunction are diseases, like diabetes and
hypertension, and lifestyle choices like smoking and drinking.
Actually, anything that has a negative effect on the normal flow of
blood is bound to interfere with the sex life. This direct link
between a healthy blood flow and a normal sex life has been
established by various studies.

VolumePills can help increase the sexual performance of men whose
libidos and sperm production rates are low. The VolumePills formula is
based on natural ingredients that are known to effectively increase
desire and promote sexual activity, as well as help the production and
motility of sperm. This formula is endorsed by a Medical Doctor, a
Doctor of Clinical Psychology and a Medical Herbalist. However, there
is no guarantee that VolumePills works for people who smoke and drink
large quantities of alcohol on a regular basis. Some drugs also, such
as cocaine, heroine and ecstasy, also interfere either with the blood
flow or the libido.

_ According to a study conducted by the Section of Endocrinology of
the Lahey Hitchcock Medical Center, Burlington, Massachusetts, smoking
causes a significant drop in the number of spontaneous erections that
happen during sleep.

_ These erections are one of the telltale signs of a good blood flow
and a healthy sex life. A decrease in their frequency or intensity is
a sure sign that erectile dysfunction is close by. The study has also
shown that refraining from smoking for as little as 24 hours brought
about a dramatic increase in the quality of spontaneous erections.
Smoking is also the root of many other problems, including lung cancer.

_ The Department of Psychiatry from the University Medical School of
Lubeck, Germany, published a study proving that heavy drinkers suffer
more often from erectile dysfunction than occasional drinkers.

_ Alcohol tends to induce a pleasant state of relaxation and is
generally thought to have a positive effect on the libido. However,
alcohol is a suppressant and has a major negative impact on the
libido. It also makes it harder for men to achieve and maintain an
erection.

_ The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, which is managed and
operated by the University of California, has conducted its own study
regarding the effects of smoking among teenagers. The study revealed
that smoking has a disastrous impact on the quality of semen.

_ This means that teenagers who are heavy smokers are jeopardizing
their chances to have children and also increasing the risk of having
children who suffer from various genetic problems due to the damaged
DNA received form the father or mother.

_ The University of Berne, Switzerland, has backed this finding by
unveiled the results of its own research. Statistical analysis
conducted in Switzerland demonstrated significantly lower semen
quality in smokers compared with nonsmokers. Sperm concentration was
also strongly affected.

Although freedom of choice is important for every individual, there
are some things that should be sacrificed for the sake of a healthy
and satisfying sex life. Not even the energy of youth can offset the
toll that smoking and drinking are bound to take on sex. For more
information on smoking and drinking related issues feel free to
contact the VolumePills customer support team. They are sure to answer
any questions, no matter how delicate or obscure the subject.

Our relationship with our partner is one of our priorities especially
in marriage. In maintaining a good relationship, there are, however,
many things, which we should consider. One of the vital factors that
contribute to the stability and deepening of a relationship is sex.

Sex is essential in a relationship. It's not only enough to be
responsible in terms of love and commitment but we should also seek
satisfy them in terms of our sexual relationship. That's why there
are a lot of issues raised regarding sexual capacity and performance
such as foreplay, penis size, libido, orgasm etc. Apparently, many
times, a lot of relationships and marriages fail because of lack of
satisfaction and unsolved problems in lovemaking.

The role of sex in a relationship is not solely confined to physical
pleasure. The performance especially of a man in sex also is a
manifestation of his affection for his partner and his concern for the
relationship. A man, who desires the happiness of his woman, should
strive to be a good partner in bed then.

Today, there are a lot of information and products out in the market,
which help men to enhance their sexual relationships like pills that
enlarge the penis size or medicines that increase the libido. There
are also natural methods for those who are reluctant to take the
medicines.

Good and healthy diet plays an important role for both man and woman
in the process of lovemaking. This information provided by science is
actually just a rediscovery of a tradition that is traced back to
history. Even during the ancient civilization, men already discovered
and started using aphrodisiacs for arousal and in order heighten their
sexual activity. Among these sexually stimulating food and beverage
are coffee and meat. While there is weak evidence established
regarding their connection of the with penis enlargement, coffee and
meat have been known to produce strong stimulating effects for couples
in sex.

Both the coffee and the meat have components that irritate the mucous
membrane of the digestive system. The mucous membrane of the
digestive tract is similar to that of the genital organ. If coffee
and meat then irritate the digestive tract, they likewise cause the
same effect to the genital organs of people. This chemical process
inside the body is what leads to the increase of sexual excitement.
No wonder why there are couples who pay attention to the details of
food intake before sex since they seek to achieve a good sex through
aphrodisiacs. After all, there is no good sex without a strong sexual
excitement between the couple during the entire lovemaking.

Although, it has been stated that coffee and meat are effective sexual
stimulants, one must learn to control the use of these. High diet in
caffeine and protein may lead to several health disorders and
diseases. Moreover, in sex, too much intake of these may result to
over stimulation of the genital organs and uncontrolled excitement
thus leading to early orgasm in the sexual activity. In this case, the
couple will have already reached orgasm even before they start to
enjoy their love making session. Moderate use of these aphrodisiacs
must be observed then. As they say, too much of the same thing is
unhealthy.

Subject: Aloeride Helps Your Immune System
aandysh_guri...

Aloeride with the compounds of Aloe Barbarensis Miller works to
improve the functioning of the immune system. When looking at the
immune system, you will see it is almost as complex as your nervous
system. When you think about the trillions of cells, which make up our
bodies and how they work to protect us using a method of communication
to all the different cell types, which makes up just our immune
system. These cells will then activate or deactivate chemical
processes, which is all quite confusing to most lay persons.

The immune system's basic job is to discriminate between self and
non-self entities, which is to say things that belong and those that
don't belong. Examples of some the things, which do not belong are
sugar protein covering a virus, or the cell wall of a bacterium. When
the immune system is working correctly, it will react promptly to
invading things, which do not belong in several different ways in
order to get rid of the foreign body. There are times during the
course of our life when our immune system will stop working, as it
should. When this happens the immune system will be unable to tell the
difference between the things, which belong and those, which don't and
will begin to eject the things, which do belong and are necessary to
the body.

This group of diseases is known as the autoimmune disease. Examples of
this type of disease are rheumatoid arthritis, lupus erythematosis,
and ulcerative colitis just to name a few. When a substance has been
identified as an immune booster, we have found something, which is
very valuable because it helps the immune system to react as it should
and regulates the cellular and humoral immune functions.

The immune system recognizes, identifies and remembers the things it
comes across. The humoral refers to material, which is dissolved in
plasma, serum, extracellular fluid spaces, which includes what the
immune system cells produce as a reaction to certain signals made by
invaders and then released into the serum, plasma or the fluid
surrounding cells of tissues and organs as a way to protect them.
These substances are a form of signals, which create other effects, or
they can become protein molecules, which are also known as antibodies,
which attach themselves only to certain targets the ones they were
created for. Once they have attached themselves the antibody attracts
other cells of the immune system. The other come and the target is
destroyed, which then releases another molecules to signal other cells
to come clean-up the mess.

All the cells, which respond to signal and have certain tasks to
perform such as identify, recognize, remember, signal, destroy, and
clean up are the all part of the cellular community of the immune
system and its function. Without the work of these cells we would be
sick a lot more often than we are. Aloeride is a substance, which
gives our immune system the boost it needs to ensure it stays in good
working order.

ANTHONY, Texas (CNN)
-- Texas may be best known for "Big Oil." But the oil that could some
day make a dent in the country's use of fossil fuels is small.
Microscopic, in fact: algae. Literally and figuratively, this is green
fuel.

Plant physiologist Glen Kertz believes algae can some day be
competitive as a source for biofuel.1 of 3

   "Algae is the
ultimate in renewable energy," Glen Kertz, president and CEO of Valcent
Products, told CNN while conducting a tour of his algae greenhouse on
the outskirts of El Paso. Kertz, a plant physiologist and
entrepreneur, holds about 20 patents. And he is psyched about the
potential algae holds, both as an energy source and as a way to deal
with global warming. "We are a giant solar collecting system. We get the bulk of
our energy from the sunshine," said Kertz.
Algae are among the fastest growing plants in the world, and about 50
percent of their weight is oil. That lipid oil can be used to make
biodiesel for cars, trucks, and airplanes. Watch how pond scum can be turned
into fuel » Most people know algae as "pond scum." And until recently, most
energy research and development projects used ponds to grow it.
But instead of ponds, Valcent uses a closed, vertical system, growing
the algae in long rows of moving plastic bags. The patented system is
called Vertigro, a joint venture with Canadian alternative energy
company Global Green Solutions. The companies have invested about $5
million in the Texas facility. "A pond has a limited amount of surface area for
solar absorption," said Kertz.

					  Don't Miss
In Depth: Solutions

SciTechBlog

"By going vertical, you can get a lot more surface area to expose cells
to the sunlight. It keeps the algae hanging in the sunlight just long
enough to pick up the solar energy they need to produce, to go through
photosynthesis, " he said. Kertz said he can produce about
100,000 gallons of algae oil a year per acre, compared to about 30
gallons per acre from corn; 50 gallons from soybeans. Using algae as an
alternative fuel
is not a new idea. The U.S. Department of Energy studied it for about
18 years, from 1978 to 1996. But according to Al Darzins of the DOE's
National Renewable Energy Lab, in 1996 the feds decided that algae oil
could never compete economically with fossil fuels. The price of a barrel of oil
in 1996? About 20 bucks! Government scientists experimented with algae in open
ponds in California, Hawaii, and in Roswell, New Mexico.
But that involved a lot of land area, with inherent problems of
evaporation and contamination from other plant species and various
flying and swimming critters. Darzins said NREL switched from algae
research to focus on cellulosic ethanol. That's ethanol made from
plants like switchgrass and plant stover -- the leaves and stalks left
after a harvest -- but not edible crops such as corn and soybeans.
Valcent research scientist Aga Pinowska said there are about 65,000
known algae species, with perhaps hundreds of thousands more still to
be identified. A big part of the research at the west Texas
facility involves determining what type of algae produces what type of
fuel. One species may be best suited for jet fuel, while the oil
content of another may be more efficient for truck diesel. In
the Vertigro lab, Pinowska studies the care and feeding of algae for
just such specifics. She said even small changes in the nutrients that
certain algae get can help create a more efficient oil content. And she said a
knowledge of algae's virtues goes way back. "Even the Aztecs knew it was
beneficial; they used it as a high protein food," said Pinowska. The other
common commercial use of algae today is as a health food drink, usually sold as
"Spirulina." I'm too sexy for my pond
And who knew that single celled plants could be such "hotties" when it
comes to sex? Kertz said it's a real "algae orgy" under the microscope.
Some algae reproduce sexually, some asexually, while many combine both
modes. In some green algae the type of reproduction may be altered if
there are changes in environmental conditions, such as lack of moisture
or nutrients. Intriguing details like that keep Kertz and other
scientists searching for more and different algae. While dusty west
Texas may not be the best hunting grounds, he said he is always on the
lookout for samples in puddles, streams or ponds. Locating algae
processing plants intelligently can add to their efficiency. Locating
algae facilities next to carbon producing power plants, or
manufacturing plants, for instance, the plants could sequester the C02
they create and use those emissions to help grow the algae, which need
the C02 for photosynthesis. And after more than a decade hiatus,
the U.S. government is back in the algae game. The 2007 Energy Security
and Independence Act includes language promoting the use of algae for
biofuels. From the Pentagon to Minnesota to New Zealand, both
governments and private companies are exploring the use of algae to
produce fuel.

But Al Darzins of the National
Renewable Energy Lab said the world is still probably 5 to 10 years
away from any substantial use of biofuels. "There's not any one system that
anyone has chosen yet. Whatever it is has to be dirt, dirt cheap," said Darzins.

They don't eat dairy. It seems to be a cure also. Just received this
in an email.

Women in China do not get breast cancer [Attn to Men too!]

Believe it or Not !!! ... read, gets interesting only from middle of
article till end.

Hi All,

We all come across hearing of friends or love one's who may have the
dreadful Breast Cancer. Here is another scientist report that shows
how dairy products can harm human health. I don't think it has
research findings to prove though. For more reports on milk and dairy
product's kindly google and plz fwd to those you care.

The Chinese don't eat dairy produce

Why women in China do not get breast cancer...because they do not take
dairy products...read on..

By Prof. Jane Plant, PhD, CBE ¡ ' Why I believe that giving upmilk is
the key to beating breast cancer....' Extracted from Your Life in Your
Hands, by Professor Jane Plant.

I had no alternative but to die or to try to find a cure for myself. I
am a scientist - su rely there was a rational explanation for this
cruel illness that affects one in 12 women in the UK ?

I had suffered the loss of one breast, and undergone radiotherapy. I
was now receiving painful chemotherapy, and had been seen by some of
the country's most eminent specialists. But, deep down, I felt certain
I was facing death. I had a loving husband, a beautiful home and two
young children to care for. I desperately wanted to live.

Fortunately, this desire drove me to unearth the facts, some of which
were known only to a handful of scientists at the time.

Anyone who has come into contact with breast cancer will know that
certain risk factors - such as increasing age, early onset of
womanhood, late onset of menopause and a family history of breast
cancer - are completely out of our control. But there are many risk
factors, which we can control easily.

These 'controllable' risk factors readily translate into simple
change s that we can all make in our day-to-day lives to help prevent
or treat breast cancer. My message is that even advanced breast cancer
can be overcome because I have done it.

The first clue to understanding what was promoting my breast cancer
came when my husband Peter, who was also a scientist, arrived back
from working in China while I was being plugged in for a chemotherapy
session.

He had brought with him cards and letters, as well as some amazing
herbal suppositories, sent by my friends and science colleagues in
China .

The suppositories were sent to me as a cure for breast cancer. Despite
the awfulness of the situation, we both had a good belly laugh, and I
remember saying that this was the treatment for breast cancer in China
, then it was little wonder that Chinese women avoided getting the
disease.
Those words echoed in my mind.. Why didn't Chinese women in China get
breast cancer? I had collaborated once with Chin ese colleagues on a
study of links between soil chemistry and disease, and I remembered
some of the statistics.

The disease was virtually non-existent throughout the whole country.
Only one in 10,000 women in China will die from it, compared to that
terrible figure of one in 12 in Britain and the even grimmer average
of one in 10 across most Western countries. It is not just a matter of
China being a more rural country, with less urban pollution. In highly
urbanized Hong Kong , the rate rises to 34 women in every 10,000 but
still puts the West to shame.

The Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki have similar rates. And
remember, both cities were attacked with nuclear weapons, so in
addition to the usual pollution-related cancers, one would also expect
to find some radiation-related cases, too.

The conclusion we can draw from these statistics strikes you with some
force. If a Western woman were to move to industrialized, ir radiated
Hiroshima , she would slash her risk of contracting breast cancer by
half.
Obviously this is absurd. It seemed obvious to me that some lifestyle
factor not related to pollution, urbanization or the environment is
seriously increasing the Western woman's chance of contracting breast
cancer.

I then discovered that whatever causes the huge differences in breast
cancer rates between oriental and Western countries, it isn't genetic.

Scientific research showed that when Chinese or Japanese people move
to the West, within one or two generations their rates of breast
cancer approach those of their host community.

The same thing happens when oriental people adopt a completely Western
lifestyle in Hong Kong . In fact, the slang name for breast cancer in
China translates as 'Rich Woman's Disease'. This is because, in China
, only the better off can afford to eat what is termed ' Hong Kong
food'.

The Chinese describe a ll Western food, including everything from ice
cream and chocolate bars to spaghetti and feta cheese, as ' Hong Kong
food', because of its availability in the former British colony and
its scarcity, in the past, in mainland China .

So it made perfect sense to me that whatever was causing my breast
cancer and the shockingly high incidence in this country generally, it
was almost certainly something to do with our better-off,
middle-class, Western lifestyle.

There is an important point for men here, too. I have observed in my
research that much of the data about prostate cancer leads to similar
conclusions.

According to figures from the World Health Organization, the number of
men contracting prostate cancer in rural China is negligible, only 0.5
men in every 100,000. In England , Scotland and Wales , however, this
figure is 70 times higher. Like breast cancer, it is a middle-class
disease that primarily attacks the wealthier a nd higher socio-economic
groups ¨C those that can afford to eat rich foods.

I remember saying to my husband, 'Come on Peter, you have just come
back from China . What is it about the Chinese way of life that is so
different?'

Why don't they get breast cancer?'
We decided to utilize our joint scientific backgrounds and approach it
logically.

We examined scientific data that pointed us in the general direction
of fats in diets. Researchers had discovered in the 1980s that only
l4% of calories in the average Chinese diet were from fat, compared to
almost 36% in the West.
But the diet I had been living on for years before I contracted breast
cancer was very low in fat and high in fibre. Besides, I knew as a
scientist that fat intake in adults has not been shown to increase
risk for breast cancer in most investigations that have followed large
groups of women for up to a dozen years.

Then one day something rather special happened. Peter and I have
worked together so closely over the years that I am not sure which one
of us first said: 'The Chinese don't eat dairy produce!'

It is hard to explain to a non-scientist the sudden mental and
emotional 'buzz' you get when you know you have had an important
insight. It's as if you have had a lot of pieces of a jigsaw in your
mind, and suddenly, in a few seconds, they all fall into place and the
whole picture is clear.

Suddenly I recalled how many Chinese people were physically unable to
tolerate milk, how the Chinese people I had worked with had always
said that milk was only for babies, and how one of my close friends,
who is of Chinese origin, always politely turned down the cheese
course at dinner parties.

I knew of no Chinese people who lived a traditional Chinese life who
ever used cow or other dairy food to feed their babies. The tradition
was to use a wet nurse but never, ever, dairy products.

Culturally, the Chinese find our Western preoccupation with milk and
milk products very strange. I remember entertaining a large delegation
of Chinese scientists shortly after the ending of the Cultural
Revolution in the 1980s.

On advice from the Foreign Office, we had asked the caterer to provide
a pudding that contained a lot of ice cream. After inquiring what the
pudding consisted of, all of the Chinese, including their interpreter,
politely but firmly refused to eat it, and they could not be persuaded
to change their minds..

At the time we were all delighted and ate extra portions!

Milk, I discovered, is one of the most common causes of food allergies
. Over 70% of the world's population are unable to digest the milk
sugar, lactose, which has led nutritionists to believe that this is
the normal condition for adults, not some sort of deficiency.
Perhaps nature is trying to tell us that we are eating the wrong food.

Before I had breast cancer for the first time, I had eaten a lot of
dairy produce, such as skimmed milk, low-fat cheese and yoghurt. I had
used it as my main source of protein. I also ate cheap but lean minced
beef, which I now realized was probably often ground-up dairy cow.

In order to cope with the chemotherapy I received for my fifth case of
cancer, I had been eating organic yoghurts as a way of helping my
digestive tract to recover and repopulate my gut with 'good' bacteria.

Recently, I discovered that way back in 1989 yoghurt had been
implicated in ovarian cancer . Dr Daniel Cramer of Harvard University
studied hundreds of women with ovarian cancer, and had them record in
detail what they normally ate. wish I'd been made aware of his
findings when he had first discovered them.
Following Peter's and my insight into the Chinese diet, I decided to
give up not just yoghurt but all dairy produce immediately. Cheese,
butter, mi lk and yoghurt and anything else that contained dairy
produce - it went down the sink or in the rubbish.
It is surprising how many products, including commercial soups,
biscuits and cakes, contain some form of dairy produce. Even many
proprietary brands of margarine marketed as soya, sunflower or olive
oil spreads can contain dairy produce .
I therefore became an avid reader of the small print on food labels.

Up to this point, I had been steadfastly measuring the progress of my
fifth cancerous lump with callipers and plotting the results. Despite
all the encouraging comments and positive feedback from my doctors and
nurses, my own precise observations told me the bitter truth.

My first chemotherapy sessions had produced no effect - the lump was
still the same size.
Then I eliminated dairy products. Within days, the lump started to shrink.
About two weeks after my second chemotherapy session and one week
after giving up dairy prod uce, the lump in my neck started to itch.
Then it began to soften and to reduce in size. The line on the graph,
which had shown no change, was now pointing downwards as the tumour
got smaller and smaller.

And, very significantly, I noted that instead of declining
exponentially (a graceful curve) as cancer is meant to do, the
tumour's decrease in size was plotted on a straight line heading off
the bottom of the graph, indicating a cure, not suppression (or
remission) of the tumour.

One Saturday afternoon after about six weeks of excluding all dairy
produce from my diet, I practised an hour of meditation then felt for
what was left of the lump. I couldn't find it. Yet I was very
experienced at detecting cancerous lumps - I had discovered all five
cancers on my own.. I went downstairs and asked my husband to feel my
neck. He could not find any trace of the lump either.

On the following Thursday I was due to be seen by my cancer specialist
at Charing Cross Hospital in London . He examined me thoroughly,
especially my neck where the tumour had been. He was initially bemused
and then delighted as he said, 'I cannot find it.'
None of my doctors, it appeared, had expected someone with my type and
stage of cancer (which had clearly spread to the lymph system) to
survive, let alone be so hale and hearty.

My specialist was as overjoyed as I was. When I first discussed my
ideas with him he was understandably skeptical. But I understand that
he now uses maps showing cancer portality in China in his lectures,
and recommends a non-dairy diet to his cancer patients.

I now believe that the link between dairy produce and breast cancer is
similar to the link between smoking and lung cancer. I believe that
identifying the link between breast cancer and dairy produce, and then
developing a diet specifically targeted at maintaining the health of
my breast and hormone syst em, cured me.

It was difficult for me, as it may be for you, to accept that a
substance as 'natural' as milk might have such ominous health
implications. But I am a living proof that it works and, starting from
tomorrow, I shall reveal the secrets of my revolutionary action plan.

Men and women are not built the same way. There is something different
in our bodies due to the way hormones change the balance between
muscle and fat and shape the size of our bones to respond to different
needs later on. In men, the testosterone hormone determines the size
of bones, causes hair growth and deepens the voice. It also regulates
the size of the muscle mass, which it turn regulates the metabolism.
The more muscle mass, the faster a person burns the calories obtained
from food, which is one of the big differences between men and women
and between overweight people and those who are fit.

It's an easily recognizable fact that men and women training side by
side do not have the same results. Recent studies have found that
women gain weight faster than men and that they have a harder time
getting rid of it through exercise. It seems that women have the
misfortune of being stuck with the worst part of the weight loss
process and also with having to work twice as hard as men to stay in
shape. And since this is no easy task for men, you can imagine how bad
the ladies have it.

Another thing that makes it even worse for the ladies is the modern
obsession with a thin body. Repeated attempts to drop the extra pounds
teach the body to hang on to the existing fat and so weight loss
becomes harder and harder as the years pass, while the women become
more and more desperate and willing to try even half-baked ideas that
should simply be avoided. This leads to dieting that makes the person
thinner, but not healthier. Quite on the contrary actually, since
there are enough emaciated, rail-thin ladies around to serve as example.

A recent study published by the BBC showed that 62 obese women who
exercised 4 hours per week and learnt how to cook healthier meals felt
a tremendous improvement in their self-image. They lost only 9 pounds
over three months, but their blood pressure, cholesterol and heart
rates were far better. And they felt much better. So, maybe women
should start to move away from achieving a certain weight to just
staying healthy and feeling good regardless of weight. Maybe this is
indeed the future of the weight loss industry: to help people feel
better about themselves instead of harming their bodies while chasing
a dream.

Subject: Break The Bingeing Cycle

One of the biggest enemies of a healthy weight, a clear mind and a
lifestyle free of guilt is bingeing. Every once in a while some people
seem unable to stop themselves from eating or drinking to excess. At
the end of the bingeing period, they fall into the other extreme and
go on a purge phase that is just as bad as the initial bingeing. The
feelings of guilt and shame that characterize the purging period fuel
the next binge and so everything becomes a cycle of self-destruction
as the individual vacillates between extremes instead of living a
normal life.

Bingeing means eating and drinking not because one feels hungry or
thirsty, but because some unpleasant feelings that cannot be repressed
force the mind to seek comfort. Self-indulgent overeating and drinking
is usually a way of trying to bury emotional problems even deeper, but
this kind of quick fix doesn't work. The problems don't go away and
the bingeing – purging cycle goes on as long as the person in question
can keep doing it. Punishing yourself with a purge does not stop
future binges. It just reinforces a cycle of indulgence and punishment
that grows stronger and stronger.

The most important thing is to find out what is it that pushes you to
binge. It's not hunger that prompts people to eat enough food for a
whole party of twelve, which means that it must be something else.
Some basic dissatisfaction with life or some stressful situations push
us into doing a thing that we usually end up regretting later. It
takes courage to look into that matter and see what is wrong. It takes
willpower to put an end to this behavior and breaking the cycle. But
it all starts with the question "Why?" and goes on from there to find
a solution.

Resorting to professional help should not be seen as a sign of
weakness. If the bingeing – purging cycle has gone on for some time,
then it's pretty clear that the person in question cannot stop it by
him or herself. Therefore professional help may be required to get to
the bottom of the problem and changing the harmful behavior. There are
also books dealing with bingeing and how to stop it by understanding
the reasons behind the compulsion. So, if going to a psychologist may
seem like too big a step to take at once, then reading a book written
by a professional is a good alternative. Actually, anything that puts
an end to denial is a good alternative.

Free Diet Plans Can Work For You

Dieting web sites and dieting plans are so successful that it's almost
a given that anybody can find the perfect free dieting scheme on the
internet. Free diet plans are, well, free - you don't pay anything
upfront. But many people don't trust them having a good reason. The
famed "cabbage soup diet" or the "3 days diet" are just two random
examples of diet plans that will never work and can even be downright
dangerous.

So how can you find a sound free diet plan? Is there any such a thing?

The keyword when you're looking for a diet plan is common sense. Use
your knowledge and your intuition to pick between the various diets,
it's not that hard. For example it would be a good thing to find out
right from the start what the right amount of calories you need based
on your current weight and daily activity. It's worth noting that even
if you are 100 lbs and a complete couch potato, you still need about
1300 calories per day just to stay alive and well.

For most of us, a good dieting plan would do nothing more than give
some guidelines on what to eat to stay within the daily limits for
calories. And any plan that attempts to tell you that 500 calories per
day is good for you won't help you at all.

After decades of dieting, many people have become more knowledgeable
and it's easier to say when we are eating something we shouldn't. Any
scheme, be it a free diet plan or one especially made for you by a
dietician, will take into account that you will be faced with having
to eat some no-so-healthy food sooner or later. You never know what
will be on the menu at your cousin's wedding party or at that very
important dinner meeting with out of town customers.

The next very important thing is to find a diet that can accommodate
your favorite foods, even if they are pork chops and fries. You won't
be able to diet and feel happy about it if you have to give up
everything you like. Incorporating foods you like is beneficial in the
long run and it will drastically decrease the danger of binge eating.

And another tricky part you have to take into account when you try a
free diet plan is during the day you are most likely to eat. I am yet
to find a person who likes to eat very early in the morning and needs
to diet. Hey, maybe I'm on to something here!

A good diet plan will make the transition from a dedicated evening
eater to a healthy morning eater seem easy and enjoyable. And the
whole purpose of a diet plan is to make life and food enjoyable even
when it's served in small, healthy bites. Dieting is supposed to be
fun, to make you feel happier, healthier and ready to try even more
nice new things in your life!

The GI Plan Diet

One of the most interesting ideas to take the dieting industry by
storm is the Glycemic Index. The index was compiled in the early 1980s
at the University of Toronto and is a ranking system for carbohydrates
based on their immediate effect on blood glucose levels. Carbohydrates
that break down rapidly during digestion and are easily converted to
glucose have the highest glycemic indexes. Those who break down slowly
and gradually release glucose into the blood stream have a low index.
The low glycemic index means that the body absorbs less sugars and
starches from foods which fall into this category.

The GI Plan diet is based on the idea that it is better to eat plenty
of foods with a low glycemic index because the steady and gradual
release of glucose into the blood will provide energy for a longer
time while keeping the feeling of hunger at bay. Foods with a high GI
will make you feel full for a short while, but the feeling passes fast
and you find yourself reaching for something to eat long before the
next meal of the day comes around. The second part of the GI Plan diet
is to combine the original glycemic index with a ranking based on the
calorie content of each food.

Like other diets, this one is split into several phases. The initial
two-week phase is built around eating 17 points worth of food per day
for women and 22 for men. The points are based on both the amount of
bad carbs and calories found in food. One of the good things about
this diet is the liberty granted to users. As long as you stick to the
number of points, you can eat anything you want. The second phase of
the diet is the longer one, because this is where the shedding
happens. The number of points is raised to 20 for women and 25 for men.

The last phase of the diet begins once you've reached your goal and
its aim is to maintain the weight achieved. This diet encourages the
consumption of wholemeal pasta, wholegrain cereals, vegetables and
fruits over white bread and doughnuts. Users can expect to lose up to
2 pounds a week on the average, although the first two weeks are known
to cause a much more significant loss of weight. Again, this is not
unique to the GI Plan, but the normal response of the body before the
starvation mode kicks in.
