my grandfather is very active, healthy in all other aspects and has
never smoked, drank really, and has ate vegetables and fruits all of
his life. while his prostrate has bothered him off and on for the
past few years, he has just sought treatment and has experienced the
inability to urinate, the painful 8 hours until treatment at the e.r.
room, catheter inserted and follow up visits just in the past 3and
1/2 weeks. while there are so many things to consider, issues to
learn about and etc.etc....the immediate question,...since the
biopsy has been explained to us as very painful, bleeding is to be
expected and after this scheduled procedure in office,.....the next
24 hrs are critical. obviously temperture and bleeding amt is to be
monitered, what are some other tips, advisements, and/or ideas for us
to learn or employ to ease and comfort my grandfather immediately
afterwards,....as we carefully drive him home and put him to bed for
rest and what other things to do to facilitate healing from this
biopsy, or things to remember,.....ie. pain meds.....going #2
afterwards,....etc. any helpful responses would certainly be
appreciated, esp. since there is almost no time to learn or prepare
or speak to the doctor more than briefly, since this is going to
happen in less that 36 hours or so.....
