Re: [Prostate Health] PSA Tests and Results

Pin Master,
Sorry to hear about your Dad, but having been through this situation over the
last couple of year I beleive that your Father should seek medical assistance
asap, has he possibley has full blown cancer att hat level. There are quite a
few treatment available for this insidous diesease. I under went surgey in Nov
2006, and fingures crossed the cancer has not reappeared. At your Dad's age his
PSA should not be any greater then 3.6 - 4 to be considered as normal. My
initial ready was 4.5 raising to 5.2 before the specilist conducted a biopsy
revealing that I indeed had cancer. But that said remember the choice is your
Father's as it would be yours if you were told that you possibly had cancer, it
your life only you can choose the path that you most take. Above all, while I am
sure you love and respect your Father, it is now that he needs your support not
an overbearing pressure to do something that he doe'nt want. Yes, I realise that
this is hard, as you
want only good health and healing for him, but just be there to support his
wishes.
If I can be of any help pls let me know.

Subject: [Prostate Health] PSA Tests and Results

Hi, I am a 25, and am looking for answers about the PSA test, and
its results. The situation is that my dad 62, has recently (with in
the last year) had a lot of these tests, and the results are coming
back ridiculously high. I have read that doctors have been usin 9
as a level where they diagnose prostate cancer, my dads has come
back at 97 each and every time (5 tests). He is currently refusing
treatment, further diagnostic tests and such, and it seems like he
is getting more and more easily tired.

Can anyone, preferably a doctor, explain what could be going on, or
am i just basically tryin to prepare myself for the inevitable?
Thanks for any help you might be able to give.
