Well,
Week 1 is complete. How did everyone do? As far as myself, I did not
do as well as I would have liked (2.5 pounds lost), but every pound
lost is good, so I just need to stay focused. Sometimes I have found
that I can do everything right, but perhaps dinner had a bit too
much salt, or that rice dish had a bit more fat than I thought, and
my body decides that it does not want to give up the weight to which
it has been accustomed. Through my 40+ pound weight loss, I have
stopped trying to understand or explain how 1 day when I am sure
that I have gained I end up losing 3 pounds and yet the next day,
when I am sure that I only ate 3 grams of fat and 1000 calories the
whole day I put on 2 pounds. Silly...

A couple of other things....

1. HAPPY THANKGIVING
You can decide for yourself how you will handle the holidays, but I
guess the first thing to remember is how hard you have worked so
far. Do you want to splurge and perhaps put the weight back on that
you have lost? I don't. I will have a few chosen snacks tomorrow,
but overall will do my best to eat as healthy as I can.

2. Pounds for Pounds out walking....
Remember that we will be walking on Saturday at 10:00am at Almaden
Lake Park. Please let me know if you can join us. The walk that I
have planned takes about 1 hour and is about 3 miles. The trail is
flat and mostly paved. It is also adjustable so if you want to do
more or less you can do it. If for some reason it rains I will email
the group and cancel

3. Food Donations for December
The food donation here in San Jose in November at Town Cats went
great, we had a lot of fun and they could really use the food. Our
next donation will be to FOSMAS. They are in San Martin, you can
check out their website available in the Database section of this
group under interested shelters. I am thinking that we will go out
on 12/15. Anyone is welcome. A case of canned food is not that much
money and they can really use them. I will post more information
soon.

Anyway, take care, and keep it up. Having lost my 40+ pounds I can
guarantee that as you lose the weight you want to lose, you WILL
feel great!
