Hello Fellow Members
Hope you are all doing well this fine Summer day.
Thought I would get the post rolling and share a little info.
My name is Marilyn and I am from Wisconsin. I had Polio at age one
and was diagnosed with Post Polio in my early 30's. Anyone out there
from Wisconsin and remember Camp Wawbeek? I attended an Orthopedic
grade school and had PT every day along with rest periods after
lunch. It was a great experience and I met so many wonderful
friends. Just like here. I was a Passer from grade 9 to my early
30's. At that time I went back into an AFO. Over the next 20 years I
worked fulltime and long hours. Part of it was that I enjoyed what I
did and in honesty I now think the other part was running from the
changes that PPS was giving me. Extreme fatigue and pain finally took
their toll and I have been on medical retirment for a little over 2
years now. I enjoyed what I did and miss the people however I love
having less pain and fatigue. That is if I pace and rest. You all
know what that is don't you?
I would love to hear your story if you feel like sharing.
Marilyn
