Hi Guys!
We're home safe and not too sound from 27 days in Ireland. :)))) The REVO has to go in the shop for repairs again. Last time it was because it fell off the conveyer belt when coming off a jetBlue plane and now it seems I overburdened it with all the hills and off road driving. It might also be that I took the brake off on an easy hill to save battery power and maybe I didn't have the brake totally off. The scooter motor and the top of the tiller gets hot when on any incline now. :((( We'll see what my scooter mechanic has to say.
Ireland was great! It took 3 days to recover from jet lag in Limerick. It was a rocky start but Inisheer was beautiful. The little hotel we stayed at had a pub and a restaurant downstairs. There were only 2 other pubs on the island, it's that small. I took good naps there when Kev was in class. I even had a seaweed bath which is great for the skin but weird to lay in. I never liked swimming in the ocean as a kid when it was sea weedy.
The following week I was placed in the 3 hour, intermediate level class for tin whistle in Miltown Malby. We stayed in a B&B 35 minutes away. It was the closest place we could find cause the Willie Clancy Festival week is very popular. Luckily, I had 3 other adults in my class who had memory problems cause the 5 teenagers got the tunes down almost immediately! We wanted to break their little fingers!! ROFL (only kidding) :))))) There was great concerts every night but I only made 2 but 3 other night we went to seisuns in other towns and I got to play the few tunes I know up to speed. <grin>
The last 8 days, we traveled to visit friends. I could have killed Kevin for the 2 days we drove 6- 8 hours cause it wreaked havoc on my body. We drove one day from Kinvara all the way to Derry. Another day, we drove from Newcastle all the was across the country to Ennis!!! I had 2 days to see Ennis before we flew home yesterday. I ache from the roots of my hair down! I was lucky and had 3 seats to myself for the flight home but 27 days away from my own bed is tough.
I went on no email for all my PPS groups so I'll need time to catch up with what's going on with everybody. My Mom's the same but Kevin's Dad is declining. He was hospitalized for 11 days while we were gone but they asked our son not to email us about it. We were going to fly to Kentucky this weekend for a Bones (like playing the spoons) Festival. I had already decided that I wasn't going to go but now Kevin isn't going cause of his Dad. It's a once a year festival and it's a shame he's going to miss it. His Dad is so depressed that he wouldn't think of leaving now. Hopefully, the new med they started will help his Dad with that. I spent an hour down the hall with him today but the rest of the day, I slept. I lent him my Quickie manual wheelchair so my mother in law could take him up on the boardwalk. I'm trying to talk him into using my scooter, when it's repaired. 82 year old WW2 vets are stubborn! LOL
I didn't get to meet Geraldine from poliontario while in Ireland but I bought her lastest book Aisling Gayle by Gelaldine O'Neill, and it's great!! If you like Maeve Binchey's books, you'll love Geraldine's. Geraldine is a teacher with PPS whom I met online from the poliontario group.
Well, it's back to bed for me. :))))) Hope everyone's well. Jo
