| Yes! Rodney it is not really definitive. However, if it was cholera one would not last more than 2 days (dead by then). If they make it beyond 2 days then it could be shigellosis or typhoid. Food poisoning (bacterial exotoxins in food) could not last more than 2 days & they are not as fatal as cholera! This is what I can remember from the lectures we heard from a WHO expert who visited us! We definitely need lab confirmation before spreading rumours. Thanks! William Mol (Goroka) |
