Hi Jenny
Reading accounts of PD symptoms and medication side effects on this
board has helped me get a handle on my own PD and on my reactions to
medication. I'm glad you weighed in on this topic. Your comments are
right on.

freely giving their advice is because they have already experienced
what you are going through with this. You must take all advice and
think it over run it by your doctor and then make your own decision. I
would like you to know that the best, yes, "even the specialists" make
mistakes or misjudgments because everyone's P.D. is so different.
After you have played this sick P.D. game for a number of years you
will be going to your doctor telling them what you need and you will
find they will work with you. Now you are green and it is your
learning time. I am still green and in my learning time, I still tell
my doctor how I feel and what I have been told is a good alternative
to the med I am on. A very nice group this is and when I first joined
many members told me this is your disease, you take the reigns and
make decisions after studying, asking questions and listening to your
doctor. When you are more comfortable with the different meds and
their exact functions you will be more comfortable to question your
doctors. Be patient with yourself, it all takes time and there is a
huge learning curve as new meds and treatments keep popping up. Good
luck, we are all behind you and on your side trying to help you as
others helped us when we were new too. Together we make a difference.

in my mouth when I ask this question. But when you have such serious
question about your medications, dosages, when and how to take them,
shouldn't you be asking these of your doctor? Why in the world do you
pay big money to these people for their expertise, and then turn to a
list full of people whom you've never met, and trust their judgement
over your doctor? And more to the point, why would any of you wish to
take it on yourself to advise another person on how, what, when and
where to take their medication? This whole thing sounds very
irresponsible to me, and I can hardly believe what I'm reading!
