Hi Mindi,
I am currently pregnant right now. My family doctor referred me to a high
risk institution in Toronto, Canada. I can honestly say that this is the best
place for me to monitered during my pregnancy. They have tests for everything
possible that can go wrong during pregnancy and delivery.
I would suggest that you ask your doctor to refer you to a high risk doctor
who specializes in complications during pregnancy. If your doctor is not aware
of any, than maybe you can try researching on the net.
For me, this is the first time I have had absolute faith in my care provider
in any of my pregnancies because I know that I am dealing with trained
professionals in this field.
Also, if you do change doctors, all of your medical history will be
transferred to them. Plus, it's good to get a second opinion with regards to
high risk pregnancies. I just recently had an hour and a half ultrasound that
specifically checked my placenta, the umbilical cord and the left and right
arteries attached to the placenta. I had no idea that an ultrasound like this
existed until I went to this institution. I've been monitered every week since
I had my cerclage in early May and they really take the time to examine me and
the baby thoroughly.
I'm not sure where you are from, but I will be more than willing to help you
on your search for a high risk institution in your area.....if that is what you
would like.
Take care
Sarah

Do you all think I should go to another doctor when I do get pregnant
again? The one I have been seeing is very considerate I think and he
says next time he will induce me and I will see him like every week,
but do you think since he didn't catch it before that he may miss it
again? Like I said he was very depressed because he had told me 16
hours before that everything was fine...so I was thinking that next
time he will do anything in his power to make sure it doesn't happen
again. I was planning on staying with him because he knows my history
and everything. Did a lot of you change your doctor? Please let me
know. Thank you. Mindi
