Hi Larnie! Thanks for your post...it helps to know that I'm not the only one
out there having this many C-Sections. My OB did also say that I'm at an
increased risk for placental problems but since I've never had any at all before
(first child born at 34 weeks due to HELLP Syndrome, 2nd at 39, 3rd at 39) she
doesn't think that I should be too worried about it. Unfortunately, worrying is
my nature. The fertility doctor that I used to see also told me that I
shouldn't even be concerned at all about it and to go ahead and get pg. But,
I've had 3 chemical pgs. since September and this kinda feels like a warning to
me. So, upon my request my OB gave me a referral to a perinatologist so that
they could answer my questions and maybe put my mind at ease a little. I go for
that appointment on April 5th. I'm just not sure in which direction to
go...possibly risk my life for another child or start saving money to adopt from
China. I'm really hoping that this appt. with the peri will
help me find the answers. The thought of leaving my children without a mother
terrifies me!

Sounds like you've been through some horrific placental experiences and I'm so
sorry for the loss of your son. Besides these 3 recent miscarriages, I also had
2 others between my 3 children. It's hard and my heart goes out to you. About
your placenta previa...do the doctors know why you've developed this? Have the
been able to rule out other problems like placenta accreta/percreta? I'll be
praying that this pg goes well for you! Please keep me updated! ~Melissa

Firstly welcome to this board. I guess your never in the wrong board
if you need support over a baby and pregnancy issue then most of us
have been through one thing or another. I am currently pregnant with
my 4th baby. I am 22 weeks along and have had 3 c-sections prior to
this one which will be a c-section at 34 weeks. My dr says that yes
we do have a high risk of scar seperation and the placenta growing
through the scar etc. etc. I have been diagnosed with placenta
previa this time but the dr is not that worried cause he said it is
better than the the placenta growing through the scar. He said it
does cause some confusion if I bleed because they dont know if it is
from the placenta previa or another abruption but we will worry about
that if it happens. I think with the right antenatal care you should
be fine to go on and have another baby. My risks are higher of scar
seperation as I had a c-section at 24 weeks which apparently makes
the scarring weeker, but than I had my 2nd daughter after that and
she was 34 weeker and absolutely no scar problems. I did however
have 2 placenta abruptions one with my son at 24 weeks and we lost
him after 4 days and the second with my second daughter at 34 weeks
but she is fine, so this time is suppose to be a very high risk for
placenta abruption and the delivery will be at 34 weeks. But I am
confident and hopeful. Should you wish to talk to me further please
do I am happy to help if I can.

Good luck,
Larnie
Mum to: Abbie (6) William Angel 5/8/02 and Sarah (2) Currently 22
weeks pregnant.
