Sarah . . .
Sarah ~ I wanted to say how sorry I am for the loss of your son. I
started this site a few years ago, and I have heard so many
heartwrenching stories of babies who were lost to PA. Just know
that we are here to listen -- I'm sure it is such a hard road.
My name is Michelle and I had my PA in May of 1999 with my first
baby. I was at 34 weeks and had a small amount of bleeding and
clots. I went to the ER and was monitored for about 5 hrs before
they did an emergency c-section and blood transfusion. I had no
idea of what was going on and had no idea of what a placenta
abruption was. My daugher was born at 4 lb. 10 oz. and spent 10
days in NICU. Thankfully I was lucky and she did very well. She is
5 yers old now and I have a 2 yr old little girl also (no problems
with that pregnancy)I came on the net to research PA and finally I
started this group so I could talk to other moms who had experienced
a PA.
Many of the women on this board who lost a baby to PA have gone on
to have normal pregnancies. Not that another baby can replace a
baby who was lost -- but I know these ladies have experienced joy in
being able to carry a baby and have a healthy pregnancy.
Please let us know how you're doing
love ~~~
Michelle B.
