Re: [Placenta Abruption] New to group and scared

Hi Sara,
Welcome to the group! I don't post often but I read the posts and post if
I can help. First off, you should be seeing a high risk OB since you've
been diagnosed with PA and you're cervix is funneling already. Do you
know the measurements? When I carried twins my cervix started funneling
at about 24 weeks and it measured 2.9 so I was put on modified bedrest. I
know it's hard with little ones at home but you need to stay off your
feet as much as possible, no sex, lifting etc. Drink lots of fluid and
monitor the baby's movements if you can feel them. The pressure is
normal, I had it throughout all of my pregnancies, however if it feels
like you have to push--don't! Then it would be time to go to the OB.
My placental abruption was during the delivery of the twins, who are 3 1/2
now and the healthiest girl and boy you could ever see! I did have a blood
clot (subchorionic hemmorage) with my prenancy after the twins and bled
from week 7 on and unfortunately we lost our precious Samuel shortly
after. I work in emergency medicine and have delivered a few babies,
although I am no expert so please call the OB if something doesn't feel
right. You will be in my prayers, as will the baby. Feel free to email me
if you need too.
Good luck,
Denise
